Truly a gem of a museum, preserving not only an historic home but also the cultural handicrafts of Western NC, skills which are increasingly under threat with the rise of technology. My Wife and I went. It’s interesting and the woman who gave our tour (I think she said she was the director as well) seems like she is very passionate about it so she kept the tour very engaging. Admittedly, I had no idea about any of it and wasn’t very interested in going but my wife wanted to so I took her. Very quickly I found it interesting after the tour began. Went here recently to find that they are closed for the winter season. Did not check the website first, and there was no indication on the street sign, and there were many active/new signs and volunteers/staff outside decorating for Christmas. It was disappointing, but understandably, probably difficult to heat in winter for museum guests. Maybe another visit! It looks nice from...
