I called a head to reserve a desk and was assured it would be held for me. I drove 1.5 hours from Tennessee to the store to pick it up and as I stood there and told the sales lady I would take it, she said great and started writing up the ticket. So I went to look around and 5 minutes later, she walked up and said, “I’m sorry but I was just informed that the desk has just sold to some people looking at it now”. I was blown away that they actually sold the desk out from under me while I was standing in the store. My second experience with this company was an $18,000+ purchase of furniture on June 1st. Delivery was guaranteed the first week of august. I received my furniture on November 20th. I own over 40 rental properties and was actually shopping to refurnish each and everyone one these properties. I wanted to use a local furniture store but these guys failed miserably in treating me like a customer should be treated. The gentleman who is the manager and a few of the sales ladies are in it for nothing but the money and they’ll tell you whatever they want as to get your money as quick as possible. I do not trust this company and will never do business with them again. They lost a $250k furniture purchase which I placed two weeks later at a nearby competitor where I was treated with honesty and dignity. I hate to write a negative review on anyone, but this company and especially its manager earned it. I have never been treated so unprofessionally before. Shopping at High Country Furniture and Design Downtown Waynesville is a wonderful experience! From the time we walked through the door and were welcomed until our dining room set was delivered and set up, the whole experience was incredible! I can’t say enough about ANGELA!!! She was so kind and patient, very helpful, answered any and all of our questions, and have kept us up to date throughout the entire process. (We chose custom furniture from Mavin made in Ohio). CHARLIE and ERIC made a flawless delivery and were awesome! Even at 7:00 am, they were kind, efficient and our dining table and chairs look amazing! We were strolling downtown and had no reason or intention to enter this store, but a fabulous teak root ball at the doorway beckoned us in. We spent over an hour cruising the store, graciously aided by Amanda whenever we had questions. We came in not needing or wanting anything; when we left we had found fabulous things that wouldn’t begin to fit in our pickup! After a couple of weeks that we needed to create space for our new items, the delivery crew was polite and gentle in placing everything where we wanted.
