My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here this past labor day weekend....We had both never been here and were excited to have a romantic evening out with no kids so I made reservations for us on Saturday night. First off the atmosphere is great. very nice decor, and the food smelled amazing when we walked in. and the outdoor seating on the balcony is very comfortable and unique. the restaurant is located inside the hotel and has an entrance on the corner as well as inside the lobby. -when we arrived we were greeted promptly and sat right away by the hostess. she was nice enough and did her job but I have to admit I was very surprised to see so many quiet/private open tables and booths only to walk by them into the back corner area and be seated directly across from a large party of women who were obviously having a celebration and were loud and having a great time! no fault of theirs as they were there to celebrate but I couldn't understand why we were sat next to such a large group in a separate area of the restaurant with so many other open spots available. I think the host noticed it as well as she awkwardlying said " enjoy your meals" and then got out of there before we could say anything....we tried to let it be, but after sitting for just a few minutes and noticed it was so loud we could barely hear ourselves think. Our server was very accommodating and took great care of us. after trying to take our drink order and barely being able to hear him or him hear us, I had asked if we could be moved to a quieter spot and he was quick to move us out to the balcony instead where it was much more relaxing so we could enjoy our meal. I had the scallops and risotto and they were amazing. Scallops were cooked perfectly and the mushroom risotto was very flavorful and rich! My wife had the Chicken Vol Au Vent_ this is the exact description from the menu:
chicken, pearl onion, porcini mushrooms, white truffle oil, cream sauce, puff pastry shell $32
That sounded fantastic to her as she is a big fan of both onions and mushrooms- unfortunately the menu did not mention peas and carrots which she does not like much so she was not too fond of the dish overall. Basically an inside out chicken pot pie.... there were more peas and carrots than mushrooms or onions which were not even listed in the description. She had mentioned that the dish was not very hot either and this was the fuel of our dissatisfaction. we decided to get a box for the rest of her food and paid our bill and left. overall not a great experience but I would try this place again based on the fact that they do have an extensive menu with many more options to choose from. Hopefully the menu will have more accurate descriptions in the future especially with food allergies being so...
Read moreUnfortunately I neglected to take pictures. Trust me though, everything we ordered looked very tasty. Standouts were the PEI mussels (I have to assume they were PEI mussels as I've never heard of "Pei" mussels, as was printed on the menu) and the Brussels sprouts. Having grown up on the east coast, I've eaten a lot of mussels, and these were among the best I've ever tasted, served in a white wine cream sauce with mandarin orange segments and pickled hot pepper slices. The Brussels sprouts appetizer, given the buffalo wing treatment with Frank's hot sauce and blue cheese crumbles, didn't disappoint either. They had just the right amount of heat to keep us going back for more. For the entree I had the ahi tuna poke salad. The flavors were decent, but I have some issues with the execution. To be fair, it bills itself as a salad, not a poke bowl. The diced tuna was the highlight of the dish, and while I wouldn't call it generous, there was a decent amount. The other ingredients were segregated in groups over a bed of greens, and the arrangement looked quite nice. Underneath is where it began to show its shortcomings. I got a thick layer of baby spinach over a lighter layer of arugula. I didn't know the arugula was there until the spinach was almost gone. I don't even like baby spinach, but I ordered a "mixed greens" salad so that's on me. Still, it would have been nice to have a more even balance of greens, and for them to actually be mixed, like it says on the menu. While I was working my way down to the arugula, I was also noticing how lightly the salad was dressed. In fact it seemed as though it had hardly been dressed at all. Shortly after I found the arugula I realized why. The dressing was all in the bottom of the bowl. Also hiding down there - and maybe this was in the dressing - was something with heat. Not super hot, mind you. About the same level as the sprouts. I didn't notice anything unexpected on my fork, but suddenly my mouth was burning. This would have been nice spread throughout the salad with the dressing, instead of taking me by surprise at the end of the meal. My last complaint involves the rice. Can't have a poke bowl without rice, and there's a little scoop of rice with some sesame seeds next to the tuna. It's Japanese short-grained rice, which is good. It's also completely unseasoned, which is just wrong. It was four bites of bland in my mouth. Seasoned sushi rice would have made a world of difference. My daughter was with me, and had a similar experience: fantastic appetizers, "meh" entree, though her issues were due to personal tastes rather than anything wrong with the dishes themselves. 925 still gets a pretty good rating. Those mussels...

I'd rate the whole experience a 3 out of a 5. The buffet style food was good, though the buffet should at least include a coffee or juice for the kids for that price. The service was everything but great and friendly. When we first sat down our server basically already brought us the check at the same time she brought out our water glasses. I haven't even had a bite yet! I asked for milk for my coffee and was told I could only use the tiny half and half creamer caps. At the end, as we were very clearly packing up, my husband took our youngest to the bathroom. The server stopped by and asked us to clean the table right now because there is a 90min limit. It was very rude and if they wouldn't have already put the mandatory 20% tip on the receipt, the server definitely did not deserve that amount. Our table was also right next to the service area for the servers and we could hear them talk about other customers on other tables in a not very nice way. Overall, way too expensive for what it is and we left feeling they couldn't care less about paying customers. They act like a 5 star restaurant but are far from it.
Original reciew: Decided to stop here on a Saturday early afternoon. It was nice out so we figured we could sit on one of the many open tables on the patio. While waiting for the hostess, she very clearly gave us looks up and down and then said she couldn't accommodate a party of our size (2 adults and 3 kids). She made no effort to find us any seating, even though the place was obviously not busy. It seemed she could have easily pulled one chair to a 4 seat table and we would be under the 6 people state max that's in effect at this time. We just felt there was a lot of entitlement in the air and after reading other reviews we are glad we...
