I had a really pleasant experience at the Sakana Sushi in Plymouth. Because I am gluten-free, a hibachi seems like a bad idea, but they were very accommodating. I didn't have to bring my own gf sauce or anything! :D I just told my server in advance and she knew exactly what I could and could not have. They just made my dish of choice in the kitchen, while everyone else had their meal prepared in front of them. I still got to enjoy the show and have food & sake flung at me! The chef was friendly and entertaining, although sometimes I had trouble understanding him. Everyone in our party thought the food was delicious, their meat & seafood items were cooked just right. My veggie & fried rice dish was surprisingly good. I wasn't expecting much, b/c some restaurants tend to write off gluten-free customers & don't really try to make things flavorful...well, this was super delicious & piping hot! We'll definitely be going back. The service was great, our waitress was very attentive. Thursday evenings aren't busy, so it's a...
Read moreI was excited to see a new sushi place in and around Lake Minnetonka so I came into this expecting an all around good experience.
However, the service was horrible as we had to order one item two times before we actually received it at the end of our meal. Overall time to get our food or any food for that matter was over 45 minutes.
Quality: I was very displeased with the 8 differant rolls we tried ranging from cooked to raw. I have had sushi all over the country and in comparison I would rate this close to that of a grocery store brand sushi.
The only part of the meal that was average at best was the yellowfish, which unless its gone bad is pretty easy to accomplish.
If I were to eat sushi again in this area I would much prefer the wait at Yummi's in Excelsior as I know the quality and standard of food are as high as you can get...
Read moreDon’t even bother making a reservation here they’ll just tell you they don’t know what happened and you won’t have anywhere to sit. They only have one table big enough for 10. I called 2 days ahead and made a reservation for 11 they said they can’t accommodate for that many so I canceled it. I called again to make it for 10 people because someone couldn’t make it in our party. When we got there, on time, they said they didn’t have my reservation on their iPad because I had canceled. I didn’t cancel the second time I made a reservation. They even sent me a text confirming my reservation. They said they could call me when the table was ready but the people at the table hadn’t even gotten their food yet. On top of that it’s on Mother’s Day. What an awesome way to start your...
