Penn Station East Coast Subs — Restaurant in Webster Groves

First, I do want you to know that I am not in the habit of giving blistering reviews. I went to this store for the first time about 6 months ago for lunch on a Friday. Walked back to the ladies room before ordering, and waited because a woman was in there. Noticed no water ran after the toilet flushed and thought, "Gross." Also noticed when I went into the ladies room that the sink was dry, so I was right. Came out and went to the counter and realized the woman who had not washed her hands was going to prepare my food. Then tonight my brother and sis-in-law went there after a movie. There was no one inside except two workers sitting at a table. We weren't sure they were open (Open sign was not lit). When my brother went in and asked if they were open, they didn't look too excited, but they did get up and go behind the counter. The guy took our order and then another person came in behind us to order. When my order was delivered to our table, the sandwich was wrapped to-go, and i thought it looked longer than 6 inches. Opened it and it was the wrong sandwich. Took it up to the counter and the guy with the take-out order had been given my sandwich. There were 4 total customers to take care of, so this was not a mistake in a rush situation. When the guy brought my new sandwich, he basically stuck his arm out and barely got close enough to hand me the order, and said, half mumbling, "s Sorry about the order." About 10 minutes later, he brought the commercial-sized rugs in and shook one about 5 feet from our table. I felt like asking him if he had a dustbin he'd like to shake on our food - but I didn't say it. On our way out, I mentioned to the other worker that he might want to tell the guy not to shake rugs inside the restaurant when people are eating. When we looked inside from the car, the three employees (2 guys and a girl) were laughing - probably at my request not to shake rugs in a restaurant. I have to say that the Philly cheesesteak was the blandest I have ever had, and the bread was half-baked. I will never return to this store. I normally go to the S. Lindbergh location as it's closer to me and they've always served me food hot. For the price, why would they not?

I drove by twice around noon and the "Open" sign wasn't on so assumed that they were closed. Ended up Googling this location tonsee the hours of operation. It shoes opem so I called. Went in ordered my usual large Philly Chees steak, small fries, no drink. The guy that took my order (Brotha) and made my food prepared my food as if it was a To-Go meal. He seemed surprised when he handed me my food as I was sitting down. I see why now, my sandwich was hot, my fries stale & cold. All threenofnthe back staff saw me place my palm on them and saw my disappointment. I'd normally have them remake them. However, bybthe time they would have made them I'd had finished my sandwich. Bodybuilding season so I was already irritated in the service. I guess if he'd payed more attention to me sitting down he would have prepared fresh fries.

if i could give 0 stars i would.Horrible customer service. I called in to place an order and the person on the line says "oh you would like to speak to our manager and make a complaint?" I was confused since that is not what I said yet the manager gets on the line and says "hi this is monica I hear you want to make a complaint?" ... so I proceed to tell them no I am just trying to plce an order and she honestly didn't believe me! she was like "so you are sure you don't want to make a complaint?" I dont know what they do over there but I would honestly avoid it. I then go there, get my sandwich, no apologies from the manager or the worker. The GM was even there and handled the situation poorly. He had his backpack on and looked like we was about to walk out the door. He was not courteous or apologetic at all what so ever. Avoid this branch as much as possible, its the one right by fuzzies. They don't value...
