The ambiance is fine. I enjoyed the music. It's pretty cold in there but it's fine it's super hot outside.
The service was kind of overwhelming. Multiple servers would come to you back to back before you get a chance to read the menu. Which I appreciate the tentativeness however there is a such thing as too much.
My final thing is the food. I wanted so badly to like this place. My gyoza tasted freezer burnt and reheated. My hakata ramen also had a refrigerator taste to it which is so weird. I love Ramen and it can be quite forgiving but not in the case here it was repulsive. I enjoyed my sushi roll, I had a Shrimp Tempura and it was fine.
Unfortunately I asked the server to remove the gyoza from my bill before ordering the ramen and she said sure but after I got my bill she informed me that she couldn't remove anything from the check. No refunds and no exchanges. Which is fine but I wish she would've told me that before taking the food away. If I'm gonna pay for it anyway I'll happily give it to the homeless instead of having you toss it and take my money. Won't be returning.
But my servers though frequent check-ins were all very nice professional and I appreciate the server despite the poor quality food and poor communication in regards...
Read moreWe tend to think of ourselves as sushi snobs. We have been to Japan and have had the best Japanese cuisine experiences so we like to try new places and compare. The servers were efficient and the atmosphere resembles a Japanese and American fusion. The food however was not our favorite. In fact, I couldn't even eat all of my meal. We were hungry so I ate what I could tolerate but we will definitely not come back. The presentation of the plates were appealing though. I ordered the Katsu Chicken Ramen bowl and the Samurai roll. I drank some of the broth and ate the chicken and egg only. There were strange off putting flavors in the ramen that I didn't care for. The samurai roll was just gross in my opinion. I tried it plain, with wasabi and with ginger cleanse and I just couldn't eat it. I believe that good sushi doesn't need soy and I typically do not use it. The seaweed wrap was chewy and it tasted heavily of cheese. This particular roll does include cream cheese but the flavor was NOT a cream cheese flavor, it tasted like cheeze whiz or another "easy cheese" type of spread. My husband tends to be a "garbage disposal" so he ate all of his ramen and roll even though he didn't...
Read moreWent there tonight and to say I am disappointed and mad is an understatement. Stopped by headed to a concert with plenty of time beforehand. Ordered edamame and 3 rolls. We sat and waited 10 mins later and another table of 3 sat next to us. They started receiving their food before us 10-15 mins later. We still sat wondering where our food was. We heard several waiters talking about a tray of sushi they couldn’t find out where it went. We heard them say exactly what we ordered. My husband tried to tell them that was our food. He was ignored and we watched our food go to another table. We sat a while longer and had a server try to approach us with food that wasn’t close to ours. We told them we tried to tell them we saw our food go to someone else. We had to leave at this point without dinner since we had plans we were now going to be late for. So we paid $15 for club sodas that had no refills and edamame and no dinner. What a joke. I am A restaurant area operations manager and would never charge a couple that didn’t even get dinner due to terrible service. So now headed to a concert hungry and unhappy and questioning how we were treated with such...
