Beneci's D'Italia Cucina — Restaurant in Weehawken

What just happened? Hoboken, NJ… if you have never been here, don’t bother was my first thought. THERE IS NO WHERE TO PARK!

Then, just outside of town there was an Italian restaurant with a parking lot! I was like… what are the chances an Italian restaurant connected to a Sheridan is any good …well, it was amazing…

First- the inside ambience is perfect! The music selection on the radio also perfect!

The service from the hostess to the waitress to the general manager was second to none!

And the food , oh the food!!!! Wow! To start we had Mama’s meat balls! Perfect blend of meats and marinara… just like homemade but better!

The salads are enough to share… but I didn’t… I ate it all. I had the Freshca and my wife had the Caesar salad with grilled chicken! -That was another nice feature where they do allow substitutions and even suggestions that you may not see on the menu, nice touch.

I had special, Surf and turf… the steak was perfect and the seasoning on the shrimp was excellent! For the vegetable was broccoli, but it was cooked to perfection.

For dessert, my wife had the cheesecake and I had something called TARTUFO, also a special. It was lately, coded, vanilla, and chocolate, with a thin layer of hard chocolate over the top with fresh blackberries and whip cream. Wow!

To top it all off, the general manager was making himself a cappuccino, I had seen him working at the perfection, so I said to my hostess, I’ll have exactly what he’s been making. It was best coffee I’ve ever had. You could tell the Chef and the GM loved what they do.. How do I know, the look and taste of each step of the meal, the dessert, the cup of coffee, had been well thought out, AND they have PARKING!!! A whole parking lot!!! The whole world should be there enjoying this dining experience!

I was so disappointed with this restaurant. Reason 1. TOO MUCH WAITING JUST for breakfast! -I went to this restaurant inside the hotel to have a quick breakfast in the morning. When I got there, they told me to wait, so I thought I just had to wait a little while, but even after 30 minutes or an hour, they still didn't call my name. I and my family was MAD about it. Too Bad. I was just trying to eat breakfast, but why do I have to wait this long for this normal restaurant? Reason 2. Over 30min to eat I ordered food, but does it make sense that I have to wait over 30 minutes for food from a place that isn't even a famous restaurant? Even at famous restaurants, food usually comes out within 15 minutes. And people who got there before us also thought this restaurant was not worth it after seeing that their food didn't come out within 30 minutes. I saw many party of people got very mad... Please consider about the system of the restaurant. And it's disappointing that the staff are talking and laughing in front of the customers who are upset. Isn't it the job of the staff to look at the situation of the guests and explain why it is taking so long now... If it's like this, it's busy in the morning, so it would be better to change it to buffet style.

It takes ALOT for me to rate 5 stars and Beneci's earned it, exceeded my expectations!! I dined with family for my Brother's birthday on 2/2. The restaurants location is in the lobby of the Sheraton Hotel which has a spectacular views, and offers free parking. Jorge who to my reservation over the phone was amazing. He was totally professional and patient accommodating my requests for my party of 8. Upon arrival there's Italian music playing, that played throughout the evening, which sets the tone. We were all greeted by friendly, smiling faces and everyone I encountered was very welcoming! Nicole, the main server was delightful and on point, taking all our orders. Everything was spot on and reasonably priced!!! Additional servers who were very personable, brought out tasty appetizers, phenomenal entrees, specialty drinks were absolutely delish!!! Compliments to the CHEF, meals were plated well and made to perfection!! The atmosphere is quaint but modern, and extremely clean. The entire party was satisfied and a great time was had by all!!! There's even a deck, I can'wait to return when the weather breaks, to enjoy some...
