Wasn’t very happy tonight. We walked in yes they was busy but no one came to us or stop to say anything. One waitress walked to the bathroom said sorry about the wait. Waiting almost ten mins for myself to walk up to the counter to see what’s going on. To another waitress to turn to my husband n say will be about a 20 min wait. He waved me bk to the front entrance. We stood there waiting then to be seated. Another waitress comes up almost 5 mins later with menus. We tell her we don’t need them. She says okay ur waitress will be right with you. Doesn’t take r drink order or anything. Two more tables come in, get seated and they place their drink order and we r still waitin on r waitress. We had waitress looking at us but no one came. We heard a waitress say no one told me I had a table. I felt so bad for her. She was the only one running around crazy trying to do so much. Her name is Naddie I believe she spoke so soft. I did apologize to her for us being upset and when she is like no I understand. Felt like she was going to start crying. I am sorry if I spelled ur name wrong or if it was Maddie. You should be waitress of the month. You did amazing girl! The other ones need to learn from you. I worked in a restaurant over 6 plus years and you should knowledge your customers when they walk in the do and apologize when needed. Their food is really good. We love the fish there and baked Mac n cheese. I will only go bk if...
Read moreWe went as a last minute last resort option. It’s a shame the place has really gone downhill. Years ago it used to be really good! But it’s dirty and dusty in the place now. My husband and I each ordered the chicken breast entree with fries and “vegetable of the day”, it also comes with the salad bar. The chicken was most definitely frozen, it wasn’t seasoned well, if at all and was pretty tough. The fries were so dried out it was like eating sawdust and the vegetable of the day was a large frozen microwave heated bowl of peas, green beans and corn. The salad bar wasn’t all that fresh, wilted and the topping selection was rough. Mediocre pickled vegetables, mushy over ripe fresh vegetables and the salads section with the pudding and “fruit” was sad. All the fruit is canned and made with sugar syrup and the applesauce is canned with added sugar. We were meeting some people afterward and one of our friends actually asked where we went to lunch and commented “you smell like a diner” indicating that we reeked of old fryer grease. How...
Read moreStopped in on our way through on Rt 6. The place we were headed was unexpectedly closed. We searched for a new place to try and came to Harlands. We were not disappointed. It just had a feel of small town welcome. Two people got burgers that were on special, one got a full shrimp alfredo dinner, and I got a pancake and egg breakfast. Everything was flawless and better than anticipated. Fries reminded me of "fair fries" but less greasy. Burgers were thick and flavorfu, and there were tons of optionsl. The alfredo had depth-it didnt just taste like basic bland alfredo but wasnt overflavored like a lot of chain restaurants do. Eggs and hashbrowns were perfect. The pancakes were different. Im not sure what made them different, but they were good and now I want more. Meals were reasonably priced. Portions were enough for each of us to have our fill, and two of us to need boxes. Service was great. We dont live anywhere close-about 4 hours away. But we do pass by a few times a year and plan to...
