Update (February 2023) Dropped another star, as much as I hate to. Their food is still excellent, the staff is still great! But the price increases have continued (They are now more than 70% increase from my first review), and the wait times and parking issues have not improved at all since my past update. Our latest attempt to eat at the Wok, we had to walk in from five blocks distant, only to find out that it would be at least fifteen minutes to get a table, and with the line backed out right beyond the prep bar, would have probably been over an hour all told before we had our food. It's still one of my favourite foods in town - I just can't recommend it any more, since unless you quite literally have all evening to wait, you might need to go elsewhere.
Update (April 2018) Reduced by one star, their prices have very significantly increased again, and parking and the lines have become a very significant issue. Expect near dinner time to have to walk at least a couple blocks to find parking, and stand a half hour or more in line to have your food cooked. Still excellent food, just less convenient and more expensive than before!
This is one of my wife and my favourite places to go for dinner. The build-your-own stir-fry plan is unique here in town, and they always have a great selection of high-quality ingredients available. They have recently (July 2016) lowered their prices dramatically, so if you've crossed their name off previously as too expensive, check them out again! If you go during peak dinner hours, expect a short wait, on the order of ten to thirty...
Read moreClean and comfortable. Food was fresh and cooked perfectly. Priced by the pound and white/brown rice is free. Waitress ways so genuinely friendly. Due to my multiple food allergies and food sensitivities I had happily planned on just keeping my husband company while he ate. The waitress (I wish I could remember her name) asked about my food limitations and went out of her way to help me figure out what some safe options were. She explained that they take allergies and sensitivities very seriously and are extremely happy to clean the grill and take steps to avoid cross contamination from other people’s meals as they cook. We were the first customers in the door and it wasn’t busy yet or I’d have felt self conscious about asking them to make a fuss since I hadn’t planned on eating anyway, but I’m so grateful that everyone was so patient and helpful. It’s been close to a decade since I was able to eat at a restaurant and it felt so nice. My husband enjoyed his meal and is looking forward to trying the ribs next time. The chicken I had was more tender and better quality than I remember having at similar type restaurants in the past before my food issues. I’m looking forward to eating here again next time...
Read moreI am in town for a few days and was hoping to try this place out but now knowing they don't wear masks and are, in fact anti-mask (based on owner replies), I will do what the owner suggests and stay away. Shame, I was excited to try some good Mongolian bbq. Oh, and no Mr(s) Owner, I am not a troll but someone that believes if you hate mask rules that protect everyone then maybe you hate food safety rules too. Edit: yup, got a snarky reply from the owner and I have great concerns that any regulation they are to follow are likely not something they are interested in complying with. I can only imagine how their health inspections go. He also deleted his replies to others in which he snarkily chastised them for expressing concern about their employees not wearing masks. Just in case he deletes the one he sent me here it is... "Response from the owner 17 hours ago
You got that right, we hate the mask mandates and believe in freedom first and...
