Did not live up to the hype - so far.
Went with the family to try Bubba's for the first after hearing some good things. Sadly, it did not deliver.
It was a Friday night, and we expected it to be busy. so we called ahead. There was no wait, but we put ourselves on the list to be there in 15 mins. We show up, told it will be another 10 mins. Nearly 40 mins later we are seated. First impression failed.
There are a lot of options on the menu, and that is a big plus. We had been expecting the traditional menu from similar restaurants with burgers being the main stay, and the couple of other options.
The waitress who served us seem a bit overwhelmed early on, stopping by to ask about drinks and appetizers, but leaving before we could order a couple of times. Chalked it up to being busy, but not promising.
Finally ordered. We ordered three different meals, pizza, chicken, and a burger. The burger being plain. She repeated and confirmed it - a good sign.
Food comes with a different server and the burger is wrong. It is loaded. We send it back, told it would be taken off the check. A few minutes later, they come back with the same burger with some of the stuff scraped off. But they left it drowning in some type of sauce. It made the burger inedible. Waitress is nowhere to be found.
We scrape some of the sauce off, and try to eat the burger, but no dice. You can only taste the sauce.
The chicken, pizza, and the appetizers were all pretty good, and the burger may even have been good to. The problem was the service. If I cant get what I want to eat, then no matter what it is - its not right. Then being an absentee server - thats just a non-starter.
Everyone else finishes their meal and we ask for the check. An eternity later we get the check - with the burger still on it. Rather that wait longer we just pay and go.
Finally, this place is a cellular dead zone. Didnt get signal with TMobile, Sprint, or Verizon. To make it worse, Bubba's has no WiFi. Not acceptable when there are 40 min waits and no cell service.
So why the 2 star review? As I said, the food that was right seemed good, but service just didnt deliver. We may try again, but never with the same server. If we do try again, the service improves, definitely possible to move up. But as of now, none of us really...
Read moreWe were visiting from out of state and decided to have dinner here with some family. We have a bubba's 33 back home and it's amazing, and although I know that sometimes things can get hectic in restaurants I was not happy with the way one of the managers handled our issue with our burger. I ordered a bacon burger once received I cut it in half check to see if it was thoroughly cooked which to me it looked cooked. After 3-4 bites I noticed it was pink toward the last bite of only HALF of my sandwich. Then I look at the other half of my sandwich which doesn't look pink until I cut a piece off and it was pink then I cut more into the burger and it's even more pink. I let the server know and he offers to take it back. Now at this point my stomach is nauseated and I have no intention on asking for a new burger because I'm already sick to my stomach because I seen pink in my burger. The server returns and tells me the Manager is willing to just remove my burger from the bill, but the manage is a bit concerned because it was sent back a bit after it was brought out to the table so she really wouldn't usually do this due to the amount of time in between the time it came out and the time it was sent back. This is to the Manager Miss Fletcher, please understand that The time that my burger was brought out to the time I realized it was pink it's not like anything could have changed or it would have cooked in the meantime so a pink burger is a pink burger uncooked. My advice would be maybe start making your cooks check the temp of their burgers before they're sent out, and don't act like a customer has done something wrong just because they eat part of their burger and realize the rest of it is pink. Although I did not speak with Miss Fletcher personally which I wanted to but writing this review will let people know about your professionalism and how you really handle things. Oh yes might I add I overheard another table having an issue and she was the one who went straight to the table but I take it that problem didn't get solved because they ended up having another manager take care of it. Maybe this isn't the job from his Fletcher. Unfortunately I will not return to that bubba's when I'm...
Read moreMay 8, 2023, was in Wesley Chapel, Fl. I was there for a few days. A family member recommended Bubba's Burger. There was plenty of parking. The structure is almost new. It's a sportsbar with a family twist to it. Kid friendly. Not the loudness in a bar that you can't hear yourself. TVs abound. Well decorated, surrounded by booths, decent bar area, and busy. The staff looked the part, professional, friendly, and attentive. Our server had knowledge of the menu and, at times, took longer than expected to come back around. I'm not a beer drinker, and I ordered a 20 oz draft beer in the coldest mug I've ever had. It was so good i ordered a second one. To start, I ordered the fried pickles. Crunchy, not overcooked, not oily. The inside was hot and juicy, accompanied by a ranch sauce. AHH, the burger, let's discuss this. It was so so so good, tasty, juicy, well done for me how i like it. For me, it was the perfect size, not overloaded with garnishes. The bun was soft and warm. It was so delicate that when i took a bite, the juices ran from the side of my mouth, and it was not because it was undercooked. I asked for onion rings instead of the fries. Excellent choice. The crust didn't fall apart when i took a bite. It was crunchy, perfect, and not greasy. I've had pizza in NY and Chicago, and I'll reserve my comments. Ordered a personal pizza, not huge, about 12 inches. Half pepperoni, half sausage. It was delicious, well prepared, nice presentation, colorful. Also, I tried the fish and chips. Florida is known for this dish. Tender selections of fish, together with French Fries, tasted a little salty. They were crunchy, though. Also a side of cheese broccoli. Gooey, hot, and neutralized the broccoli taste. Listen Bubba's Burger is a nice place for family time, and checkout any sport going on when you visit. We asked to change a channel, and they were accommodating. Our server when he was around gave you all the attention in the world like being on a first date with someone. I'll comeback, and visit again. This visit was...
