Went with some family and my 11 month old daughter to celebrate my cousins birthday. We’ve gone a few times but my other family’s first time.
Everything went well when we first came and got seated. Our server was super kind and helpful educating our first timer family members about the menu. We ordered our first round and second round of food with no issues, everything tasted well and hot, but noticed the staff started to frantically move tables next to the sushi bar and some woman (assuming she was in charge) was telling people to put things away and such.
we were confused as it was around 4pm at this point so more people would come in for dinner. Then about 4 staff members start pouring solutions onto the floors and scrubbing the solutions with brooms. The water didn’t overflow to us but it was a lot of solution and bubbling in this area, keep in mind it was about 5 feet away from my daughter’s highchair while we sat in the booth.
Our server gave a heads up on needing to go a different route if we needed to use the restroom to avoid slipping due to the staff “deep cleaning” the area blocking the closest route to the restroom. at this point, we were still very confused why a “deep cleaning” was necessary.
We were still going a few rounds of food and noticed it started smelling slightly of cleaning solution, then noticed a table diagonal of us that had a dad and 3 small kids was also noticing this distinct smell too. not sure if they left promptly due to them cleaning, but dad did not finish his food and paid almost 5 minutes immediately as the smell was becoming more fragrant. It wasn’t a bleach smell but still a cleaning solution that could have anything in it!
My husband and I being concerned for our 11 month old baby, he ended his meal early to walk outside with her. With both of us weary of her inhaling any harmful chemicals that could be present in the cleaning solution for this “deep cleaning”. My remaining family and I asked for the bill and I brought up to our server, why this deep cleaning was going on and why now?
I brought up the concern of us having a baby, that my husband had to leave the restaurant so my daughter doesn’t inhale anything harmful from the deep cleaning, while the rest of us finished our meals and paid. I discussed how there was another family with small kids that looked at the situation of the staff scrubbing and look at it odd and confused as well as if we both had the same thoughts.
in response, our server was understandable and went to look for his manager to bring up the issue as it’s a good point. he came back a few minutes later after we saw him look around the whole restaurant for the manager and was told she went on break for 5 minutes. So instead, He had a female coworker come back to our table and she blatantly stated “there is no chemical solutions that they are using so there should be no issues on harming anyone, it is biodegradable so you can literally drink it” she also stated “I saw the guy drink this solution and I can go get the solution and drink it to prove as well.”
I was APPALLED by this answer like what?! I kept my composure and stated I was just looking out for my family and any small kids that there was a “deep cleaning” going on and we have no idea what is being used in those products or why it’s being used during business hours. The female coworker continues to push the point of the solution being biodegradable and that we should have no problem with it, that it’s safe. I ultimately just left it at that and stated I just wanted it to be known to the manager that we were just simply concerned for our wellbeing, not wanting to inhale anything harmful while eating a meal with family. She was frustrated with my answer and just nodded me off, which I found super unprofessional about her approach to the situation and not addressing that I was simply concerned as to why this deep cleaning is being done at this time, especially without knowledge of what...
Read moreIndulging our sushi cravings, we opted for a delightful Sunday lunch at Crazy Sushi and Hibachi. Fortunate to secure curbside parking, we were warmly greeted upon entering the restaurant. The ambiance was enchanting, adorned with tasteful decorations that set the perfect tone for a sushi feast.
Our experience was elevated by the exceptional service of Leah, our server. From the outset, she guided us through the menu, and we decided to embark on the "All You Can Eat" journey for our lunch.
To tantalize our taste buds, we began with an array of appetizers: Tom Kha Soup, Shrimp Tempura, Steamed Pork Gyoza, Dragon Roll, Bruce Bowns Roll, Tuna Sashimi, Sunshine Roll, Spring Roll, and Edamame. Before our order arrived, we explored the Salad Bar, which impressed us with its freshness and flavors, offering a variety of salads like Lettuce, Seaweed, Tuna, and Salmon.
The first bites were a symphony of flavors. Tom Kha Soup warmed our palates, the Spring Rolls crisped delightfully, the Steamed Pork Gyoza showcased savory perfection, and the Edamame satisfied our taste for simplicity.
The sushi rolls, including Dragon Roll, Bruce Bowns Roll, and the star of the show, Sunshine Roll, were a visual and flavorful delight. Each roll was a testament to the chef's mastery, with the Sunshine Roll emerging as a clear favorite.
For the second round, we delved into Ahi Tuna Sashimi, Signature Roll, Sesame Ball, Shrimp Tempura, Krab Rangoon, and Volcano Roll. The appetizers - Ahi Tuna Sashimi, Sesame Ball, Shrimp Tempura, and Krab Rangoon - continued to impress with their delectable tastes and textures.
The Signature Roll, adorned with fried banana, proved to be a unique and delightful creation. The Volcano Roll, another splendid choice, added a satisfying crescendo to our sushi symphony.
In conclusion, Crazy Sushi and Hibachi provided a sumptuous sushi experience, enriched by an enchanting ambiance and impeccable service. A recommendation for all sushi enthusiasts seeking an unforgettable...
Read moreWe went to Crazy Sushi for my son's birthday. We had a large party, approximately 15 of us. When the waitress, Caitlyn, started taking orders, she stated that if we were getting the all you can eat, everyone needed to get it. I explained my dietary needs and that I could only eat the meat/seafood and veggies. She said I couldn't get the a la cart. I again explained that I would be only eating a small portion, due to my special diet. She then said that I needed to get the all you can eat. She said I am not going to argue with you people! I told her never mind, I just won't eat. She said "No, you can just get the a la cart." I then ordered the Hibachi Shrimp and carrots ONLY. When she brought my order, it was shrimp but with ALL of the vegetables, except carrots. She explained that they were out of carrots and then said, you can just take the shrimp off. I only ate a handful of shrimp and asked if I could get a discount since the only thing I ate was a handful of shrimp and she said no. She said that whether you get the rice or vegetables, it doesn't matter, you still pay the same. I said can I just pay the child's portion and she said we don't have children's portions. At that time, I simply said, you guys are awful here. She then said, we are awful, you don't have to be rude, which I wasn't. Then we were also expecting another couple to join us with their toddler. We asked for a high chair and said they were parking. Not even 5 minutes later, she comes to our table and said that our 2 hours was up! We said, but wait, you said they could order. She said, well I can sit them at another table but your time is up. Unfortunately, they did not get to eat. She said well I have another 20 topper coming in. This was my first and last time at this restaurant. The food wasn't even that great! Nothing like paying $20...
