Worst experience booking an event space. Do not recommend.

You can tell these are county employees. The event staff are lazy, rude, lackadaisical, and not accommodating AT ALL.

If you book an event here, you will be treated like a peon. Staff act as if they are the customers and we are there to serve them. Nothing is worse than spending thousands of dollars only to get attitude from those who are supposed to help you make your event come to life. They don't check on you during on post event to see if your needs were met. NOT ONE TIME did anyone check in and ask us how things were going. WHO DOES THAT?

By no means do staff pretend to care that you're a satisfied customer that will return and give them more business. They don't care because they are publicly funded. They can care less how many bookings are made there, or lack there of.

Bonisha Perri (event director) has an attitude from start to finish. She is not there to please and let's you know it right at jump! Her underlings follow suit-- -nothing but snarky responses, and horrible body language. She doesn't care to take time and go over what the event space includes and doesn't include. I swear she's only there so she can sneak in some tee time with the bros. That's the only time I saw her crack a smile is when she was kee-keeing with the men who were there to golf, but aren't you the event director? Shouldn't you be making your clients feel taken care of?

There were guests at our event who wanted to book the space, but after they encountered Bonisha, they quickly changed their mind. She doesn't have the personality or disposition for event planning.

Nothing about this place makes you want to return for another event--soon as you hit the entrance there's a strong stench, reminiscent of...

It is always a mixed bag at Chester Washington.

I've gone about a half dozen times (all weekends) and the majority of the time it was a decent experience. No major delays. A somewhat slow pace but not egregious.

The snack bar is incredibly slow because it seems staffed just by a single person.

However my most recent adventure was booked for 2pm. When we arrived 20 minutes early to check in, we were informed that there was a tournament going on that was "backed up" and that we would be delayed 35 minutes.

It wasn't the best news, but given past times had gone ok, surely we could wait half an hour. We were given a few complimentary buckets of range balls to pass the time.

45 minutes later when we tried to get an update we were told that we weren't going to be golfing "any time soon" and that it was 30-45 minutes (again)

Frustration started to set in. And after 30 more minutes we were told....stop me if you've heard this before that it'd be 30-45 more minutes.

Even that revised revised estimate seemed improbable given that there were no carts at all to handle the now 25+ golfers waiting to play golf (all of which had been waiting from 30-90 minutes)

We finally decided to give up and just call it a day as given the rate of play and limited golf carts available we most likely would not have teed off until 4:30 or later and gotten at best 12 holes completed before dark.

Overall it was one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had at a golf course.

I have golfed here 3 times, I’m aware it’s a public course and the pace of place is a little slow but after my most recent time going I will not be coming back here. This course is very poorly managed. Prior to showing up the course, my 4th had cancelled and I tried calling the pro shop to let them know but was left on hold for an hour and I had to give up on giving them a notice my 4th was not going to be able to show up. My tee time was at 1:16, and since they had no golf carts available all tee times were over 30 minutes behind schedule. When the golf carts would become available the employees would just wait around waiting for someone else to deal with getting the carts available which was very frustrating. After getting on the course the pace of play was the worst it’s ever been. On multiple holes, there were 2-3 groups waiting to tee off. My front 9 ended up taking over 3 hours and my group eventually decided to just leave. When brining up the pace of play to the front desk, they say it’s not a private course and this what I should expect. This course refuses to invest in improving it’s management and into making the play experience better. They have an ok chipping green for practice and a range but would not recommend playing here nor any experience working with...
