I came here because I was waiting for someone in the local area to get finished before I picked them up. So my experience is inside and I had a "takeaway" for my guest"
My initial reaction is it looks like a decent place. Fairly neat, tables clean and the floor wasn't messy under the tables (my visit was before noon). The coffee cup with advertisements on it made me chuckle. Good idea considering how expensive food is getting lately
I had ordered a simple bowl of fruit. This was delicious and looked fresh. The big negative here was the service. They definitely had 3-4 people who were either at the door or taking your order at the table. I think the manager or owner was seated near the front but was sitting and talking with guests dining here
My coffee order took a while (had to ask two separate people to get it). My waitress was fairly nice, but had zero urgency or memory. She forgot my coffee and fruit bowl. It wasn't like they were crowded either so it wasn't that. They definitely had a laid back attitude imo
She was very good at remembering my takeaway order, since I checked just before leaving she said it was already cooking. Between late coffee, late fruit and infrequent coffee refills I think they should work on the customer experience, especially when there aren't a lot of customers inside
Because if they do, the food here is absolutely better looking and better tasting than the "DK DINER" down the street.
I do plan on trying this place again. I hope to increase my review hopefully.
Side note, the men's bathroom was fairly clean with paper towels and the bad cheap and thin toilet paper (low on the wall placement).
Otherwise nice, considering you can leave the door open(the the main bathroom door) for one other person in case they need to use the stand-up urinal. Common courtesy is...
Read moreWe were disappointed. The service was bad. The food was mediocre to bad. First. the coffee was weak and bitter tasting. I thought maybe we got a bad batch, but my refill was from a fresh brewed pot and it was the same. I ordered simple scrambled eggs with home fries, wheat toast and a side of corned beef hash. My wife had a veggie omelet and a belgian waffle with powdered sugar. When the food came out, my eggs and hash browns were cool to luke warm. My corned beef hash was hot and the best part of my meal. I guess the cook finsihed my eggs and potatoes and let them sit out while he cooked the rest of the food. I asked for yellow mustand. The waitress gave me a plastic bottle that was just about empty. She told me I should be able to get some out of it. I was startled that a server would do that, basically saying get what you can out of it, I am not getting you a full bottle. My wife's veggie omelet had potatoes in it. That was not expected, but not bad. We each took a quarter of the waffle that came out without the powdered sugar that was asked for. The waffle had a strange bitter undertaste. We could not finish it. I am not sure why the other ratings are so good. We won't be returning to a place that can't even get...
Read moreI went alone to eat dinner one evening about 5:00. The place was not very busy, but still it took the waitress a long time to take my order (20-25 minutes). I ordered a crab cake off the senior menu. It came with a salad and one vegetable (I chose sauteed broccoli). The crab cake, which was about 50% bread, came well-saturated in butter. They may want to watch this, because it may taste good, but some older folks have dietary standards which don't include a lot of butter. Desert was included as well -pudding or ice cream. I chose a scoop of moose tracks. Overall, the meal tasted okay. The waitress seemed very stressed. She was the only one waiting tables, and apologized for the service, though I didn’t complain. She mentioned that they were looking to hire more waitstaff, but couldn't find anyone. So...average food, harried waitstaff...I hope things improve for them. I have gone there many times over the last 12 years, since I've lived around here, and the situation has remained pretty...
