Heard they had great pizza, walked in with a friend last night. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try the food since we chose to leave due to the apalling attitude of the bartender. (Female, not male, as I see there is a comment below about another bartender's rudeness.) Her belittling, sarcastic attitude was from start to finish honestly. We sat down and asked to see a menu to which she sarcastically pointed at the dark mahogany/black menu sitting next to us with a tone that we were stupid for asking. It was so shocking I don't even remember what she said on top of it, but it was extremely sarcastic. I didn't make much of it, just laughed and said "oh, guess it's just dark in here." She looked so perturbed when she asked us what we wanted and we didn't know yet. My friend and I started talking at once and laughed, and she just shook her head and blinked like we were social outcasts and she was mocking our inability to order. We asked how much the 14 inch pizza was and she cuttingly asked "do you want me to like go in the kitchen and ask, I don't know it off the top of my head?" It's not what she said this whole time, it was how she said it. It was like being in the playground with the high school bully, knowing that no matter what you say she will comment on it in tone and body gesture to diminish you. I've never seen anybody in a restaurant act so damn rude.
Finally I said "well you have a great personality" and just got up and left. Will totally admit I fired back, but I wasn't going to just sit there and take it, not when we are paying.
Noticed another comment about race. I'm middle eastern looking and my friend is a Black guy. Hopefully she's just nasty to everyone and it's not about race but who knows.
I'm sure she's a great bartender and is going through something. But it's unacceptable.
EDITED: Just wanted to add that it's not like my friend and I were bringing in any kind of negative energy. We were totally sober, coming off work. Chatting and laughing with the gentleman sitting next to us. Have no idea why...
Read moreUnfortunately I did not have a good first time take-out experience from Dante's Tavern. I placed a takeout order (pizza, wings, and fries) on a Friday at 6PM online, and was given a pickup time of 7:01 PM from the webpage. I arrived to the tavern at 7PM and asked for my order, and was told that it would be about "ten more minutes". No problem. There however isn't a great place to wait here as there is limited space, and I don't drink, so I didn't want to take up a spot at the bar as it was pretty full.
I waited a little away from the bar, and another take-out customer came in, and told me he had a pickup time of 7:30 PM, and he had arrived quite early (it was about 7:10 PM at this time). Lo and behold, he gets his order before mine, and the staff did not acknowledge that my order was taking longer than usual until I asked once again for an update. There isn't a clear area of where to speak with staff to pickup orders, so you kind of have to awkwardly flag down anyone that will listen to you. I am not sure if my order was forgotten, but staff proceeded to go back and forth from the kitchen several times after I asked about the status of my order, and it was just altogether peculiar. Finally, at 7:38 PM, I was handed my order and was able to leave.
When I did finally get to eat the food, it was prepared well and tasted good. Additionally, my pizza was a bigger size than the one I ordered, not sure if it was related to how long I had to wait. Unfortunately I don't think I'm willing to...
Read moreWe had the worst experience here. We come in standing at the front for 5 mins waiting for someone to seat us. No one came so we sat ourselves. Then we sat there for 10 mins and no one showed up to give us water or a menu. The bartender noticed us and had us come up to her to grab them so we decided to just sit at the bar. We asked for waters. We ordered our pizza right then and there. We waited a whole HOUR and still nothing came. We asked for the status and the bartender comes back saying 5 more mins. We waited another 15-20 mins and the bartender comes to us saying she’ll check on it. We waited another 10 mins and comes back to tell us the pizza ripped in half and asked us to wait another 10 mins to make a new one. At this point, we are so upset with the service and we waited BEYOND any normal wait time, and just couldn’t take the risk of waiting even longer, so we left. Granted, the bartender offered a free shot initially and then a discount on the pizza for the delay. We just simply wanted the pizza to come out. She did say she was the only one working and there was a group of people hanging around the bar. And like two other tables, so we understood that and was patient about it. But the extent of how long we waited for… and to STILL not get our pizza, was crazy. The bartender was kind and apologetic, but the overall service was...
