I was LIED to by one of the female employees that said their food is good. This Mexican restaurant on a Saturday (my birthday was today) was empty or almost empty when me and my some of my bloodline arrived their in the late afternoon hours.Their ground beef burrito is literally the "Bottom Of The Barrel" out of all of the Mexican restaurants I have ever been to so far in Chicago to date, period. The rice and beans that came with my "Burrito Dinner" was nothing special at all either.I don't know what my bloodline that came with me thinks about the food they ordered, but I will find soon and very soon.Their restroom was dingy with a toilet that needs to be cleaned inside clearly, and no tissue at all for customers that have to deficate unfortunately and inexcusably. The portions of their appetizers are probably the biggest one of my relatives have ever seen based on all of the Mexican restaurants she has ever been to however.I am a quality over quantity customer though.Always have been, and always will be.I got played more than my PS4 today.Four and a half stars out of five...
Read moreAnother hidden gem which serves really delicious authentic Mexican food. Carry-outs but no delivery. Modest little storefront restaurant on north side of Cermak off California. Limited street parking. Opens daily at 7am; closes at 11pm daily except 12am Fri, Sat. Nothing fancy. Casual, relaxed often noisy. Friendly staff. Did I say authentic? Beef head, tongue, brains. Tripe. Weekend specials includes pozole. Not offerings found in Anglicized restaurant chains. Not stuff I tried - I'm not that brave. But it's the taste and quality of the other food I can vouch for. Appetizers like suegras de carne asada en tortillas de harina, chorizo as tacos or burritos. The first time I had Chile Rillemos, one of their plattios autenticos, was here. Love at first bite. Try the shrimp pan fried in garlic. Combination plate with enchilada, taco and quesadillas with rice & beans.Wonderful Flan. Have a margherita. Imported or domestic beer. Or something stronger if someone else is driving. Hard to order something you won't like. Just deal with the fees if you order take-out....
Read moreThis was the last place we ate at before leaving Chicago and I’m glad we found it. The food was excellent and our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. We met the owner of the restaurant and had a nice conversation with her, it’s always nice to support female owned establishments. I ordered the chicken flauta plate and was very happy with it, the chips and salsa was good too. I will definitely go back next time we’re in Chicago. A ride share from downtown was $14 and the number 21 bus drops you off right in front for less than...
