Cocula Restaurant — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

It was just yesterday, hot, humid but in that good way that says Summer is coming, Enjoy it. So, we decided to! Happen to be down on the South Side. Since we've always been fans of Coculas (our go to is the Pulaski location), and we see a low, brick building of what could be Hispanic architecture with a HUGE frosty cocktail special advertisement in the window ($5 Large Margaritas two days a week, yes $5!!!) and it's another (possibly original?) Coculas, so we decided to stop. SO GLAD we did! My Guy ordered: QuesaBirria Taco Combo ($13.95) which is: Three red tortillas topped with melted cheese, filled with marinated beef, cilantro & onions. Served with consomé (birria broth). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ I had never heard of this dish, MANNNNN, I have been missing out!!!! It's delicious almost a cheese fried in (?) kinda red tortillas, stewed beef tacos with a dipping like broth that takes your taste buds on a magic c carpet ride baby!!! Wow. Woke up thinking about that dish and have googled it all day too 😉💯. It WAS that good. Okay, and my food Shrimp ceviche tostada so fresh and overloaded with shrimp....classic but so quality 😋. I also had a ground beef tostada which was so abundant, we laughed!!! BUT ate the majority of it, pro tip: add a little of the beef consume, 🌮🧡. When I walked in it seemed very nice everyone spoke, everyone was kind. Ordered the lagastinos & my niece had the steak nachos which she like. Upon eating my lagastinos I found hair in my food , told the waitress & she brung out a new plate. I was eating & found ANOTHER hair it was horrendous! They offered to make a order of lagastinos to go which I took & also ordered chicken quesadillas to go , got home my husband proceeds to eat IT WAS HAIR IN HIS FOOD! Im am so disgusted & now that Im sitting maybe this was a prejudice established because hair in my food three different times is strange. I don’t suggest anybody eat there especially someone who looks like me. I have never in my life experienced something like that I will never go back. Still paid in full & left tip but never again. The food is very good and the service is excellent, just a little pricey. The ambiance it’s extremely important too in a restaurant and my only problem is that they don’t play nice Mexican music themselves, not from the music box. Many times they have crazy music from the music box and the tvs going at the same time. One day I had to ask the waiter to please turn the tv voice off. It was crazy! An example is casa margarita in Bolingbrook ( the only casa margarita that we frequent), even that the food and drinks are not that good, we choose to go there for the Latin music, It’s relaxing and it makes you feel good during lunch or dinner , not crazy nervous like...
