I'm downgrading the amount of stars after the AWFUL visit Saturday evening. My cousin was visiting from Nashville, and is a bartender there. I told her the place was great with a good selection of beer. We walked in sat at a table. We waited a LONG time and was not greeted or acknowledged at all after about 5 min. We see the waitress check on her tables, we attempt to get her attention. We thought maybe she's busy then she goes and just STANDS at the end of bar. I stand and make eye contact when I notice she just standing there looking in our direction she didn't move. My cousin goes to the bar, was ignored. A customer at the end of the bar somehow got menus for us and hands them to us, without getting out of his seat that's how close we were to the bar. We decide on our beer, then more than 10min have gone by with ZERO acknowledgment. My cousin takes the drink menu and our IDs and stands back at the bar for several min. Takes the menu customer to get the bar tender to acknowledge her at all. She orders 2 beers. Now we know they know we're here. My cousin tells the bar tender run a tab we're ordering food too. All we had was cash so she leaves her Tennessee ID at the bar for the tab. Another 10 she goes to the bar orders our food. Food comes out. Finally a waitress! I ask for chipotle mayo and a sharp knife to cut the chicken sandwich with bacon we were sharing. She says there are utensils on the table. After she walks away I notice there are only butter/ table knifes. She never comes back with said mayo or knife so I ask the bar tender. Only then does she come with mayo and no knife. I ask again. She then grabs a roll of utensils and starts opening it like I'm a child and says this with cut it in half, we are now just starting at her in disbelief, I say "REALLY?!" Dripping in sarcasm. She says "yeah really it'll cut threw the bacon too" I said"um No that's not what I meant" then say "could you just bring me a steak knife or somthing to cut this? " she says "if I can't find one can I take the sandwich for the cooks to cut" I say "absolutely" she comes back with an obnoxiously large kitchen knife!! Never once checked on us, clear away the appetizer garbage or got us more beers which were WAAAYYYYY to hard to order at the bar than they should be. Place was busy but not busy enough to be ignored over and over. We figured well maybe this is the bar tenders table ands the waitress just runs the food or somthing??? But my boyfriend and roommate came and joined us late, right when we were finishing our food. She comes right over immediately asks , only my bf NOT my older roommate, what he would like! He keeps asking menu ?s and I say AT LEAST 5 times we need a menu, can we get menu? And finally Marco(bf) ask her for a menu? He says well we don't need it now. She never mentioned price AT ALL . Another 5mins. No coke that he ordered and she didn't bother asking anyone else anything. Cousin goes to the bar for refills and a beer for the roommate. Marco goes and finds the waitress to get his coke. She says ok. Several mins later and again with the menu customers assistance we notice a coke just sitting on the bar without a word from an employee. I ask for another beer and our check. I later notice it's again just sitting on the bar and a Male bar tender looking at it trying to figure whos it was. No help from menu customer cause he left, he said he also had terrible service fyi. After that the Male bartender started to come to our table and got us to go boxes ect..... we are not talking a week days where they might be running on a skeleton crew, we are talking the Saturday in a holiday weekend during football season!! They also didn't give my cousin back her ID! She noticed about half way home to Tennessee, when she needed it! She called several times today with no answer at all my bf walked over to see that they were indeed open just weren't answering the phone. Any one id these things in their own wouldn't be 1 star worthy but, all together I will be going in tomorrow to speak...
Read moreHad to write a review on this place because it was so bad, and they served people who come from working in every aspect of the food industry from host, to server, to management, to exec assistant to restaurant owners. This place blew our mind how bad it was from beginning to end.
My parents were in town helping us move some stuff and wanted to treat them to a quick drink and some good dive-bar food. Being were all from Wisconsin (and all of us love and grew up with good dive bars) we thought it would be a perfect fit. Our expectations were not 5-star Steakhouse service, but this place managed to hit rock bottom and dig deeper, multiple times, making up more and more shocked after each instance. One of these things here and there is excusable but not at this extent.
My wife’s drink was incorrect multiple times, the last time with no offer to even fix it, just an apology that "the bartender made it wrong, here it is." It took 50 minutes to get wings, fries and burgers. My fries were ice cold in addition to my parents and husbands burgers and fries. We had seen our food sitting on the bar for a while while the waitresses were on their phones. Only reason my business partner and I ate was because we were starving, hadn't eaten all day and couldn’t wait any longer.
My husband went to the bar to try to get a server to get us warm food (since no one was checking on us or even clearing our drinks, but would previously come around incessantly when we didn't need her asking if we wanted more drinks..?) He had 2 waitresses walk by him and my waitress was busy talking to a coworker behind the bar instead of doing her job. She blamed the kitchen staff, said it was bull—— repeatedly (to the point it was making me uncomfortable so I had to smile and keep insisting it was fine - we felt the amount of cussing was a little unprofessional), and that they would get us a round of drinks. Being most of us weren't drinking alcohol, we said we’d just like the food corrected.
My husband's wings and fries came back about 30 minutes later and were warm, but not hot as one would expect on a re-fire. Meanwhile, my parents still waited another 15 minutes, at least, before getting back the food they had initially sent back, when they strongly insisted they would get new food. Not only did they make a huge deal that it was "disgusting" and would "absolutely not" just reheat their food. So when it took another 15 minutes, we thought there was no way they weren't making it from scratch for them. Our mouths collectively dropped when we saw what they presented them. Their food that they had sent back microwaved, veggies and all, yet somehow still not hot. Not sure how that took so long to get microwaved food back. My mother was extremely put off by the fact that they microwaved the veggies even, that they pushed the plates away and refused it eat it, saying they'll have to order food from their hotel room (ultimately getting McDonalds on the way home..)
My parents rarely make it to Chicago to visit and this was the one meal we got to have with them. The level of cheap and unorganized that a place has to be to do that is beyond my comprehension. The waitress said it was bull—- again and again we insisted we just wanted the remainder of our tab so we can be on our way.
At this point we’ve been here for two hours and half the table hasn't eaten, the other half ate cold food because we were too hungry not to. After insisting they would comp all of our drinks and we offered to pay for the two meals ate, the waitress had the audacity to drop a tab for $81!? I was in shock. They left all but one round of drinks on the bill and tried to charge us $81 for 2 beers, 2 cocktails, cold wings, and cold burgers, that they insisted they would fix (and didn’t) and then comp (and didn’t). Again, the level of cheap and unorganized that a place has to be to do that is beyond my comprehension, especially with such a poor performance already.

Read moreVisited this place a few times food is pretty good and drink specials are a good value. My only complaint is during days when they have 1/2 off food specials it can get pretty busy and service suffers. I would recommend avoiding these days as the service tends to be slower unless you don't mind waiting longer than usual. I'd gladly pay full price for faster service. No complaints on the staff, everyone I have encountered is friendly and professional. Perhaps the bartender and server could work as a team, as customers enter the bartender acknowledges them and asks if they want to see a menu and by the time server reaches their table they know what they want. This would ensure the customer feels acknowledged that they are in the servers queue to have their order taken. I don't know, maybe it won't make things more efficient. I know from a customers perspective it's frustrating to feel like you are being ignored (unintentional I know, but still...
