Logan Square Dog Park — Attraction in West Chicago Township

BEWARE!!! I TOOK MY LIL JACK RUSSELL TERRIER FOR THE 1ST TIME TO THIS SO CALLED FRIENDLY DOG PARK ON AUG 2022. THEIR'S A SIGN THAT SAYS FRIENDLY DOGS. ANYWAYS" THEIR'S 2 PLAY AREAS WITH GATES IN BETWEEN", THEIR WAS A MAN THEIR WITH HIS 2 DOGS" BUT THEY DIDN'T LOOK FRIENDLY TO ME & OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T HAVE LEASHES ON" MY VIBES TOLD ME TO TAKE MY DOG TO THE OTHER EMPTY PLAY AREA. THEN ANOTHER WOMAN CAME WITH HER DOG & DECIDED TO TAKE IT TO THE AREA WHERE THE 2 DOGS WERE" THE OTHER DOG CAME OUT ATTACKING THE ONE WHO JUST ENTERED THE GATE" THE OWNERS WERE TRYING TO PULL THEM APART" THE WOMAN WAS BLEEDING ALL OVER HER HAND UP TO HER ELBOW " SHE LEFT INJURED & HOLDING HER DOG AT THE SAME TIME.I ASKED THE INJURED WOMAN IF SHE WANTED ME TO CALL 911 OR AN AMBULANCE " SHE SEEMED IN SHOCK OF WHAT HAPPENED THAT SHE JUST WANTED TO LEAVE. THE OTHER MAN DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER ASKING HER IF SHE WAS O K. I KNEW THISE 2 DOGS THAT WERE THEIR WERE NOT FRIENDLY" BUT THE OTHER LADY WHO ARRIVED DIDN'T SENSE DANGER. THIS MAN KNEW HIS DOGS WERE FAR FROM FRIENDLY. SO MUCH FOR THAT SIGN ON THE GATE SAYING...

I will never come to this park unless it’s empty.

I brought my 1 year old dog here. He’s finished with obedience school but I wanted to get him more socialized with other dogs.

The owners had ZERO control of their dogs and clearly there was very aggressive behavior, biting, growling and possible fights. I was being jumped on and pushed over from just standing there alone. Every dog owner knows when the dogs are young and attacked, the issues with being around other dogs begin. And the last thing I wanted was for this to be an early issue with mine.

He been around other dogs plenty before and never had issues.

It's nice having a dog park so close, there is a water source so there's always a couple of kiddie pools filled with water that the dogs like. It's concrete only which has it's negatives and benefits. It's rough on feet and not super pleasent, but if it's been raining or anything you never have to worry about mud and mess. It's usually pretty busy, so lots of dogs to play with, but there seems to be more scuffles between the dogs than other places, not sure why. Hasn't been an issues for us yet, so we'll keep going and the dogs...
