McDonald's — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

I understand that this is McDonald's that I am reviewing and that comes with fast food service, however there should still be a standard set that should be upheld on corporate side and consumer side. This will be the most negative review I have to write unfortunately. I do not enjoy writing negative reviews, but I have to make sure fellow consumers know what they could potentially experience with restaurants. This particular McDonald's is the most problematic I've experienced. I live close to the McDonald's, yet at night, it is promoted that you can order after lobby hours (10pm CST) and walk up to the take out window and pick up your order. There is a bell to ring for service as well. On a few occasions, I was made to wait 15 mins for someone to come and assist me, and another 20 mins to be handed my order. This McDonald's gets busy after lobby hours and the drive thru is very long, however, that is a staffing issue and I am understanding of when an establishment is short-staffed. What I don't appreciate is some of the staff's unwillingness to uphold the walk up window service. I strongly suggest either making sure there is a meeting with staff to ensure everyone to know to uphold this service, or remove it if it stretches staff too thin and is more than the overnight crew can handle. I ordered delivery last night and am 2 minutes away from the establishment and the 30 minute wait wasn't the problem, it was the food being literally cold and hard like it was left out for an hour. I am delivery driver and when I get to the order window, I tell them the order number and service and I could tell they did not listen and tell me to drive around to last window. 20 plus minutes sitting in the drive thru at night bc that's all that's open. That is fine, but to wait 20 plus minutes for them to tell me order had been picked up (they obviously gave to wrong driver because it was never delivered) and to tell me they could not remake the order to bring to customer is truly abhorrent on their part. I even went to the pay window (1st window) and gave them order number as well for them to ignore me and tell me to go around. They should be giving orders in 1st window so we do not have to wait around for orders that were placed and sitting on a shelf getting cold when there is a huge upcharge (double price for delivery customers) and they treat them like garbage and drivers like garbage making them wait last and not verifying if order is even there so druver can back up and contact support and cancel. They make us wait 20 plus minutes to tell us they gave it to someone else not realizing after all this time we are making $4 an hour to sit and do this! Our orders should be ready and waiting when we arrive and we should not be made to wait through entire drive thru line for fresh orders when they were already put in before we arrive and should be ready and waiting and CONFIRMED the order is there when we go to speaker not when we wait 20plus min to get to the...

Oh boy, McDonald's is attempting another go at trying to be an upscale burger joint and I'm of course going to be the first one in line for this circus. I forgot this is possibly the worst McDonald's in regards to food quality and their complete inability to keep the drive through less than 10 cars long in such a cramped space.

Inside is just as busy, but I somehow got my order of the "signature" BBQ bacon crispy buttermilk chicken on an artisan roll and the maple bacon Dijon burger on a sesame bun in less than 5 minutes. Off the bat I give a nice presentation on McDonald's end, but still nowhere as delicious looking as the advertisements (jeez those looked like something I would devour!)

As for the taste...pure garbage from the pits of Hulk Hogan after a LONG workout. Chicken sandwich gave me instant heartburn. Odd taste throughout. Maple Bacon Dijon burger tasted like straight charcoal, clean the grill people! Couldn't taste much of the condiments and other ingredients, I just felt like I was choking down a charcoal and Dijon mustard sandwich.

The nice girl at the register and overall cleanliness is what keeps this place at 2 stars. Although with how everything tastes I would suspect the places where the customers aren't walking around don't meet...
