Nick's Beer Garden — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

I went here with a couple of friends for a drink. The selection of drinks was great and I liked the atmosphere I really wish I could give this place a good review but the bar service was less than adequate. We were one of two groups sitting at the bar with a couple standing at the end. We were the second group to sit and where repeatedly skipped over for people walking up to the bar. The couple at the ended up waiting even longer. We were never asked for a second drink even being dry for over 15 minutes and the bartender repeatedly walking in front of us. When I asked for a round of shots I was asked “what’s that”. That guy behind the bar is either high or incompetent how don’t you know what a round of shots is? nicks is the only place I feel safe going to by myself as a woman because the bartenders and security pay attention to their customers and friends no matter what. Even if someone is making me feel uncomfortable, they act on it before i even have to go out of my way to ask for help. And if I ask, they don't question. The staff are genuine and care about people, their safety and their experience before worrying about optics. I've never left the bar without staff/friends making sure I get home safe. They also have bingo night, karaoke, live music, dogs and Malort. their staff is good people and nicks is lucky to have employees that always prove to be quality people, quality bartenders and quality friends. Nicks was the first bar in the city I went to when I turned 21, and I’ve been going ever since. I’ve recently started coming in frequently now, Tiffany and Tami are excellent bartenders. They also make a strong drink and know how to have a captivating conversation. The crowds of ppl are always cool, never too rowdy. The bands that play always have the place poppin.
