To sum it up food is a strong hit or miss, The chef’s don’t know how to follow temperature instructions, (ie. Overcooked wings, Undercooked burger) .. the pic below is an example of a burger i bought from there my very first visit (Remind you, it was supposed to be medium WELL) I literally had to throw the burger back on the skillet . Typically I purchase the SAME Exact Thing (double burger with bacon that comes with fries” I’ve paid $25.42 my first visit, which is what I thought would be the cost for the burger, but nope.. the following times I paid $27 and some change the next, then after that visit I paid $25.42 again the visit after, $29, and most recent visit I was charged $31 and some change, by a waitress name Brenice(who was very rude and couldn’t keep her eyes out of the back of her head) ..
I spoke to Meg (very sweet) about this who was trying to deescalate the situation , and she told me that the price of the extras depend on the chef who is there on shift(which doesn’t make any sense because the business typically prices out the food not the chefs they just cook the food, considering she was the one who made the call on how much to charge me for the extra patty the last time without consulting chefs because she is a manager. )
I shouldn’t have to pay a different price on the same exact thing I get every single time I come. Chefs are rude every time I walk to the back and ask for my burger to be made medium well done. (First time here, a nice worker literally walked to the back and told them to make my burgers medium well done, and the ending result is this very picture you see below) .
I also didn’t like how Breniece’s behavior was defended because she worked there for a long time …that’s probably why Berniece feels like she can disrespect people and talk to them any type of way(common side effect of a long term employee who is comfortable and don’t think they’re replaceable)
Because of her behavior and because of the chefs attitude when I asked them for my burger to be made a certain way, I demanded a full refund because who wants to eat somewhere where the people serving and cooking your food has nasty attitudes .
Talk to your employees and managers .. A lot of people will take a L with food quality and peoples shitty attitudes because they have other things to do, and my time is precious too , but I am a Manager at a Fortune 500 company so I have no problem dedicating 10-15 minutes of my time writing this review about how inconsistent and sometimes incompetent your...
Read moreRacist facility. Came here at 11:05 June 14,2022. Employee snatched my phone,my property, from my hand during a food pickup without asking permission to even touch it and then proceeded to cuss at me UNPROVOKED to leave for not “physically handing him my phone so he can see it better” when he was verbally told the order information and shown the order from a safe 1 feet relatively close social distance. I never raised my voice or cussed at him but he was extremely hostile and aggressive with me,pointing at me to go away and yelling profanity after profanity. This facility promotes (Black Lives Matter) but on more than one occasion (other reviewers have stated they were treated poorly due to being black) they have been openly discriminatory towards African American individuals who step foot in The Aberdeen Tap. Will be reporting this incident to the Better Business Bureau and a police report for verbal assault and emotional distress was created for any future civil proceedings.I was alienated, verbally abused, and treated as if I was a second class citizen all because an employee named Scott Staples felt he was entitled to snatch my phone out my hand. A police report had to also be made for documentation purposes for any potential future civil proceedings. I advise that any African American individual stay as far away from this establishment or you will intentionally receive poor treatment. I also notice a pattern of no people of color dining with The Aberdeen Tap. This is a small bar that caters to “friends” and I wouldn’t put it past them that most of the good reviews on Google for The Aberdeen Tap were created by...
Read moreThe Mac and cheese cubes had a beautiful crunchy exterior with a soft cheesy gooey interior, you should definitely try these. Also got the warm soft pretzels, these were alright, but not something that’s a must order. Also, they had these grinders, specifically one of the most intriguing ones was the duck grinder with duck confit, crispy duck skin, chimichurri, and garlic aioli. I liked it, but was completely caught off guard with their truly delicious wings. We got two orders, and each order comes with 8 wings. The Buffalo sauce was solid, and paired well with the blue cheese, but a surprising flavor was the Jerk. The jerk had a smoky charred flavor with some heat. The Chiliyaki, now this was sweet, minimal heat level, and a nice play on teriyaki. My second favorite wing that I tried behind the buffalo was the Carolina Gold. It was sweet, tangy, and all of these wings were fried...
