If I could give zero stars, I would. I have never dealt with a company that has such low professionalism and subpar lack there of customer service. I had a group scheduled to see the Purple Rain movie on June 8th. Yes, it rained/sprinkled that late afternoon and had stopped at least 3 hrs before the movie was to start. I know because we were staying in a hotel nearby. We get to the location at 7:30pm, not knowing they had canceled it because almost every company nowadays use text to communicate with their customers. An email was sent out, but it went to everyone's junk mail, so there's no notification that you got mail when it goes to your junk mail. But, when we arrived and was told by the hotel front desk staff that they were told to inform the guest that the movie was canceled. That wasn't their job. They don't work for Rooftop Cinema. The Rooftop Cinema staff left, so they didn't have to confront the customers that were going to arrive because even other people didn't know it was canceled because they showed up also unaware. Rooftop Cinema runs a very unprofessional business. You don't leave before guest are set to arrive before so you don't have to confront them. You stand your ground and for your business and represent. Because when 8:15pm came around, it wasn't even raining, so you all canceled the movie prematurely at 6 pm something, and it wasn't even raining then. But, the next place we went to was grateful for our business. Rooftop Cinema, that was my 1st and last time doing business with you. I promote parties and events. You will never get any of my...
Read moreThis was a fun and interesting experience. There’s a back area with games, the bar, and and more seating. The screen is large and the headphones guaranteed good sound quality. The headphones cut out a handful of times, just briefly for a split second. We purchased the love seats which are the front center rows. I would say the higher price for love seats isn’t worth it because seats farther back are optimal anyway. We ended up choosing the fourth or fifth row and the screen is high up enough that nothing obstructed our view. It’s nice to be outside, but blankets are definitely recommended if it’s cooler than 70. The seats are also adjustable. The menu QR code is linked to your seat so the employees can bring food and drinks straight to you. I ordered the quesadilla and it came quickly. Food pricing and quality is as expected for a movie theater.
The theater could benefit from a wider food selection and maybe foot rest of some sort. Assigned seats would be a plus. We came early but didn’t enjoy the back area because we wanted to reserve our seats. Overall a nice and novel theater, but a bit of an inflated price for non-current movies, especially with the free movies in the park available in Chicago. Plus there’s an $8...
Read moreI saw Bridesmaids with my girlfriend for her birthday. All in, tickets for the loveseat cost me $79. We got there when the doors opened, and our cushions were SOAKED. After the movie was over, our entire backsides were soaking wet as well. You'd think for such a high price of admission, the staff would at least throw a tarp down over the cushions before it rains, or remove the cushions completely and put them out only for the showing. I asked a staff member if they had any dry cushions or at least a towel to dry mine off and got a flat, "no". The Bluetooth headphones worked well, but the screen they used had dead pixels across it that we found distracting. I probably won't be going back and suggest if you want to see a movie outside, the Drive-in can't be beat because those are in secluded areas without any cars constantly wizzing by or helicopters flying overhead, or clubs next door blaring music. Also tickets to a drive in...
