THE BAR 10 DOORS — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

Where do I start..... The owner is rude, mean and unwelcoming! However, his cook( heavy set guy) was nice, engaging, and very welcoming. I’m from out of town so I figured this place would be a nice safe place to go and have some drinks. Not only that but the atmosphere reminded me a lot of home; so it was a win/win situation for me(I assumed). Upon arriving, 30 minutes after the doors open. I saw a few folks setting up for a party, but no bar tender in sight. Immediately, the cook greeted me and asked if he could help with anything. I explained to him that I was out of town and was waiting for my family to arrive. I then stood idle for about 15 minutes until I decided it was time for a drink. I approached the tall dark skinned guy standing at the bar and asked if I could order a drink. The guy then replied( rudely) “I’m not the bar tender I don’t make drinks”. He then stated “ the bar tender should be in shortly” I stood idle for another 10 minutes until I decided to utilize google to see what other bars are close by. I found one that was 3 minutes away and proceeded to walk to that bar. Upon arriving to that bar the white lady at the bar greeted me, asked me what could she get me to drink, poured me a glass of water as well; and was overall very welcoming. After finishing my drink, my mom called me to inform me that her and my cousin have finally arrived at “the bar 10”. I then proceeded to walk back to this unprofessional establishment, where people were saving seats for folks whom haven’t even arrived to the bar yet. There was 1 bar tender accompanying the party that was going on, and the outside traffic as well. A gentleman at the bar offered me his seat. I sat down for approximately 10 minutes and I then asked the bar tender for a drink. She informed me that she was backed up and by herself and that she was taking care of people at the party first. She then explained to me that there was a second bar tender that was on her way in. I waited an additional 20 minutes and decided to order my Uber back to my hotel. Once I got up to leave that’s when the second bar tender finally arrived, my family tried to convince me to stay but I was over it at that point. I’m a professional; and one thing that grinds my gears is a business/establishment ran unprofessionally! Furthermore, I’m glad i didn’t spend any of my hard earnings here nor will I ever be returning!

They take away 5 stars because I completely appreciate who ever is working that kitchen relentlessly! I am a big food critic particularly when it comes down food temperature, If it's not steaming hot, it's just not good particularly chicken wings but the person in that kitchen executed my order with excellence in all areas, presentation, temperature and taste! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Thank you sooooo much I can tell you work that kitchen at heart and the wings were perfect thank you. 💜😋

As for service at the bar, it was quite difficult to order because there is a large crowd and it's a small space but that was not my issue since I understand the space was quite limited but things is that the Caucasian bartender had a very disgusting attitude even after I waited for approximately 10-15 minutes for service, not to mention that she completely ignored me as if she didn't see me, when I know she did because I spoke to her and said "excuse me would you please service me as I stood there starting to feel stupid, after she purposely skipped over me and turned her whole body to a man that was also calling for service that came after me but who she decided to take care of before me, simply rude and disrespectful. That bartender made me feel uncomfortable she offered me unfair treatment and I don't know why they have someone so negative representing the front of the line of their business! That attitude should be left at home not brought to a place where people wanna laugh and are paying to watch a stand up comedy show! We don't want that, you can keep that we are PAYING CUSTOMERS and we deserve respect. The comedy show started out smooth but yes the atmosphere kicked in solid and chilled, than you for having us we will definitely be back but I personally will not be seeking service...

I came in for food on the night in which a silent party was being held. The party didn't start for another hour yet, Google showed that the kitchen/bar was open.

I proceeded into the open space where they were indeed open but had no customers yet. After speaking with the welcoming bartender and finding out how to order, I proceeded to do so on a touch screen kiosk. Before I could even finish placing, a security guard asked me away and back outside to check my bags. He told me my size perfume wasn't allowed in the space, and that I would have to leave the bag with him or take it to the car. I found this to be ridiculous and , in a way, totally unnecessary. I told him I would just take my purse back to the car, and when I came back kept me outside in the cold to RECHECK my handheld clutch and ID.... He then proceeds to tell me details of the party and how it would be a $20 entry fee if I were to leave and come back in. He then sarcastically told me to smile as he finally let me in....

All I wanted was food from the beginning but was instantly turned off by this man's greeting.... Claims he's been doing this 15 years and it shows because he's clearly tired of the job he does based on his lack of customer service or even etiquette towards a woman. Really disappointed at securities unwelcoming approach especially being a woman.

....at least say hello...
