Loved the spacious upstairs area — perfect spot to sit, relax, work a bit, or catch up with friends. There’s plenty of seating, and the atmosphere feels open and inviting. Really liked the “make your own salad” setup, plus there’s a great selection of sandwiches to choose from. I went for the beef brisket elote sandwich (pictured) — super tasty and full of flavor. It was definitely on the messy side, but in the best way possible — totally worth it. You can grab a coffee and chill on their terrace upstairs too, which is a nice touch. They also have pre-cooked meals available if you’re in a rush — you can either take them home or have them heat it up to enjoy there. The food quality, vibe, and service make it worth visiting. Great all-around spot whether you’re dining in or just picking something up.

I chose Goddess for lunch today because I was craving a bowl of soup due to the cold weather. I ordered a bowl of Matzo Ball soup with my lunch. What was included was ONE, LARGE, matzo ball, with a couple of onions and carrots (see picture). It looks nothing like the picture online on their website. And I could hardly call this a "bowl" of soup. More like a small cup. This cost $7.... In addition, the soup was room temp at best. I picked up the food within five minutes of it being ready, and sat down to eat within five minutes of that. I had to put it back on the stove and warm it back up for it to be edible. Really disappointed.

I ordered the rainbow cake for my daughters birthday and I thought for 100 bucks with Saturday shipping from Goldbelly this cake probably won’t be that good. Boy was I WRONG!! The cake is so moist and delicious. Not too thick and not too airy. And the icing!! You can taste that homemade once again perfect texture of not too thick not too thin delicious icing. The cake came just as pictured and the colors inside were so vibrant! A hit indeed and thanks so much much for helping to make my daughters b day possible. You can’t get an entire rainbow cake anywhere in any grocery store lol

Edit: In the time since writing this review, Goddess and Grocer’s really stepped up their variety and quality of specials! While they still have a wait problem depending on when you go and how busy they are, they’ve certainly focused on improving the quality of their food and inventiveness of menu selections.

Food used to be less consistent—a standard menu sandwich you get one day may have be radically different the next, depending on who was making the food. Now? Far more consistent.

Staff’s improved, too, but there’s still significant variability in quality of service.

——— Original review:

Average food sold for well above-average prices. If you’re in a rush, don’t get something that requires them to make or prepare it—something as simple as a toasted bagel make take anywhere from ten to twenty-five minutes depending on the staff working.

Service varies wildly based on who is working. In my five years in the neighborhood, I’ve noticed an extremely high staff...

I’m always really anxious when I order food because I have some complicated allergies; Dairy, Soy and Eggs. It’s rare that I don’t find a vegan treat without soy in it, but I was super excited to be able to get a vegan chocolate cupcake when I went in ^.^ When I requested allergy confirmation of the Sandwich I wanted to order, I was met with kindness and curiosity; the entire staff ensured their commitment to finding out ingredients. I know it’s extra effort and can be time consuming to hunt all this information down—I’ve been yelled at in other places about this— but nobody made me feel like a burden for just wanting to eat. I don’t remember their name but I was very appreciative that they showed me pages of ingredients and their allergy book info to confirm with me that I wouldn’t be at risk! I truly can’t express how appreciative I am that the entire team remained curious rather than bothered

I walked in when there was no line or people waiting around. I ordered a chicken salad sand-which and waited 25 minutes. I understand when it’s a rush or busy time of day, but there was no one in front of me. As I waited, I watched how staff gathered in the back of the store or did everything they could to not make eye contact/ask if I needed anything. When I politely tried to ask about my sand-which to the girl who was running out to-go orders (prioritized instead of the people actually waiting at the store) she looked irritated and quickly walked away without even letting me finish my sentence. I know people have bad days and sometimes staffing can be tight but seems like everyone there tries to avoid customers. It’s sad to feel like a bother as a paying customer. Brought the whole vibe down and I don’t think I’ll be returning which is a shame because the...
