Edit: In the time since writing this review, Goddess and Grocer’s really stepped up their variety and quality of specials! While they still have a wait problem depending on when you go and how busy they are, they’ve certainly focused on improving the quality of their food and inventiveness of menu selections.
Food used to be less consistent—a standard menu sandwich you get one day may have be radically different the next, depending on who was making the food. Now? Far more consistent.
Staff’s improved, too, but there’s still significant variability in quality of service.

Average food sold for well above-average prices. If you’re in a rush, don’t get something that requires them to make or prepare it—something as simple as a toasted bagel make take anywhere from ten to twenty-five minutes depending on the staff working.
Service varies wildly based on who is working. In my five years in the neighborhood, I’ve noticed an extremely high staff...
Read moreI’m always really anxious when I order food because I have some complicated allergies; Dairy, Soy and Eggs. It’s rare that I don’t find a vegan treat without soy in it, but I was super excited to be able to get a vegan chocolate cupcake when I went in ^.^ When I requested allergy confirmation of the Sandwich I wanted to order, I was met with kindness and curiosity; the entire staff ensured their commitment to finding out ingredients. I know it’s extra effort and can be time consuming to hunt all this information down—I’ve been yelled at in other places about this— but nobody made me feel like a burden for just wanting to eat. I don’t remember their name but I was very appreciative that they showed me pages of ingredients and their allergy book info to confirm with me that I wouldn’t be at risk! I truly can’t express how appreciative I am that the entire team remained curious rather than bothered

I understand when it’s a rush or busy time of day, but there was no one in front of me. As I waited, I watched how staff gathered in the back of the store or did everything they could to not make eye contact/ask if I needed anything. When I politely tried to ask about my sand-which to the girl who was running out to-go orders (prioritized instead of the people actually waiting at the store) she looked irritated and quickly walked away without even letting me finish my sentence. I know people have bad days and sometimes staffing can be tight but seems like everyone there tries to avoid customers. It’s sad to feel like a bother as a paying customer. Brought the whole vibe down and I don’t think I’ll be returning which is a shame because the...
