So glad I finally tried The Couch Tomato! I eat vegetarian/vegan in general and have been GF and soy free for over a year. (I should note these aren't strict allergies, so I can't speak to cross contamination.) It's hard to find a good place with tasty, healthy food that offers options for my preferences/restrictions AND also serves as a option for when I'm with people who want good "normal" food. The Couch Tomato does all of this really well.
I tried the Atomic Veggie sandwich with GF bread and vegan cheese. It was good and the vegan cheese is mild with nice flavor/texture. I also ordered a custom pizza with caramelized onions, artichokes and mushrooms on GF crust. The GF pizza is the best GF crust I've had! It holds up well as a vehicle for the toppings, has balanced flavor, and has a satisfying texture - soft in the middle with crispy edges. The toppings, sauce and cheese are delicious too, so it's great as a whole. I'm so happy to have a pizza that doesn't make me feel like I'm wasting the calories.
The staff is really kind and does a great job of inspecting orders before handing them to customers.
The price for a personal GF pizza is a smidge higher than I'd like, which only impacts how frequently I'll go. I really enjoy the food so it's still worth it, and have been there a few times since I first went about...

I walked into The Tomatoe Shack with a bit of skepticism—healthy food often walks a fine line between flavor and function. But this spot didn’t just meet expectations, it quietly knocked them out of the park.
I ordered the Couch Club, and let me say this: it was excellent. Perfectly balanced flavors, fresh ingredients, and a clean finish that left me full but not weighed down. The soup? Simply perfect. Rich, warm, and clearly made with intention—not an afterthought like at so many other places.
As someone who considers himself a bit of a food connoisseur, I usually have at least one critique. But here, nothing. I couldn’t complain if I tried. If I lived in the area, this would be a regular go-to.
What really sealed the deal, though, was the service. Beyond respectful, the staff communicated with a clear knowledge of both the menu and the restaurant’s mission. They didn’t just take my order—they created a welcoming, informed experience.
As the Philly girls say: it was on point. A’s across the board. The Tomatoe Shack is...
Read moreI stopped by the Tomato Shack in Conshohocken and really liked how cute the place looked. It has both indoor and outdoor seating, and I’d recommend sitting outside if the weather’s nice — it just felt more relaxed out there.
We ordered two vegetarian pizzas. One was really good, but the Veggie House Special didn’t quite work for me. It had too much artichoke, which overpowered the other flavors. A bit more mushroom and less artichoke would help balance it. We also got cheesy breadsticks on the side, which were okay.
Service was a little slow, but they seemed really busy with takeout — orders were flying out non-stop. If you go, definitely ask for the garlic butter and margarita sauce. Dipping the pizza in both made it even better.
Parking is limited out front, but there’s a building across the street where staff said it’s fine to park, just not inside the garage.
Nice spot overall. I’d go back...
