Absolutely divine lunch here yesterday. We started with the Chef's Bread, a house-made, and an incredibly fresh loaf of crunchy on the outside, airy and soft on the inside, slightly tangy bread served with four dips of the chef's choosing. The tzatziki was bright and full of fresh herbs and crunch, with lots of dill. The smoked labneh was topped with chickpeas and eggplant that balanced its naturally tart flavor well. The tahini dip was as expected when you hear "tahini," and the roasted tomato dip (which I have sadly forgotten the name of) was smoky and sweet. They all complimented each other and the bread and were the perfect introduction to the meal. For the main, we both decided on the Beetroot and Cheese Ravioli (technically a sacchetti), a new addition to their menu. The dish was earthy, sweet, rich, and somehow still light and delicate. I love beets, and this showcased them in such a beautiful way. The pasta was delicate, cooked perfectly, and filled with a mild cheese that added richness without overpowering the beets. It was, to be frank, heavenly. My dining companion declared it one of the best dishes she has EVER eaten. For dessert, we shared the Iced Pistachio Crème Brûlée. The thin, crunchy top cracked into the custard-y, incredibly smooth take on brûlée for the creamiest, lightest little bites of gentle pistachio flavor. It was paired with a raspberry puree that added the perfect zing of tart and slightly sour. The service was absolutely exceptional. Our server Noa was welcoming, warm, and funny. She was ready with recommendations and answers to our questions and made sure that every customer in the tiny yet light and inviting space was well cared for and having the best possible experience. Her attentive and personable disposition absolutely took the meal to the next level. We left happy, perfectly full, and already looking forward to our next visit. Truly an excellent addition to the WeHa food scene. See you again soon Gveenah,...
Read moreGveenah offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, with a bright, welcoming space that immediately sets the tone for a great dining experience. The owner is incredibly passionate about his food, taking the time to engage with guests and share his love for the cuisine. Here is what I ordered:
Cucumber Lime Fizz – A refreshing, light, and cucumber-forward drink. Not too sweet, making it a perfect palate cleanser.
Ceviche – Well-balanced flavors with just the right amount of acidity. The house-made bread was a standout—perfectly baked and a great complement to the dish.
Mediterranean Fries with Tahini – Delicately roasted to perfection. The accompanying sauces were incredible, and the sunchokes added a fresh, earthy touch.
Salmon Gravlax – House cured salmon and a must try. The house-made smoked labneh adds a creamy richness, and the freshly baked Jerusalem bagel ties everything together beautifully.
Moroccan Seabass Matbucha Tortellini – The fish was light and flaky, while the tomato-based broth was rich and flavorful. The combination of the fish, broth, vegetables, and tortellini made for a dish that was both hearty and well-balanced.
Bonus: It’s BYOB! – They’ve partnered with the liquor store next door, allowing you to order through a QR code, and they’ll deliver it right to your table.
With its welcoming ambiance, thoughtfully prepared dishes, and passionate ownership, Gveenah is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy fresh, house-made Mediterranean...
Read moreThis is a very quaint and intimate restaurant. A true hidden gem!! When I first arrived I expressed my excitement for the Dubai chocolate cup, but was sadly told they had run out for the day. But it it’s okay it does gets better. We had the smoked chicken flatbread for an app, that was a 10 out of 10!! Soo good. For entrees we both had a gnocchi dish, mine was a beef and mushroom gnocchi and his was a more simple tomato cream style base, let me tell you both were absolutely amazing!! Our server was super friendly and patient helping us decide what to order, very attentive but never overbearing, made sure to bring water refills and came at just the right times for everything… now let me get back to the dessert, as we were finishing up the main course, the man whom I believe to be the manager or owner came up to tell me that he didn’t want me to leave disappointed and had been in the back preparing a fresh batch of the Dubai desserts while we had been dining!! I was so grateful that he went the extra mile just to make sure we had a good experience , every bite tasted like Heaven!!! I absolutely can not wait to go back and try something new! It’s rare to find a place where not only everything was delicious but also with amazing and such genuine...
