I would like to take a moment to commend an outstanding employee at one of your locations. On the morning of July 4th, I visited the Starbucks situated at 25 Kane Street, West Hartford, CT, at 5:57 AM. The level of service I received during this visit exceeded my expectations.
Upon arriving at the drive-thru, I was promptly attended to by a young woman who provided an exceptional standard of customer service. When I approached the window, I inquired whether it was challenging to be pleasant and she responded with a look of confusion, affirming that it was not difficult at all. I proceeded to share with her that I oversee two fulfillment centers for a security company and had spent the previous night in the hospital due to the recent passing of my grandmother.
I mentioned that I had attempted to visit a nearby Denny’s for coffee and to catch up on some work, only to find that they were closed for an hour despite being a 24-hour establishment. This experience was particularly frustrating for me, as Denny’s had been a cherished spot for my grandmother and me during my childhood. The employee then excused herself momentarily, leading me to believe I was delaying the line. However, she returned promptly, expressed her condolences, and presented me with a $4 gift card for my next drink.
I must emphasize that this gesture, although unexpected, significantly uplifted my spirits during a difficult time. It is employees like her who exemplify true hospitality, and I believe she should be recognized for her exemplary service. If she is not currently in a supervisory or managerial role, I strongly recommend considering her for such a position.
Her ability to maintain such a positive demeanor and make a meaningful impact on my day despite working on a holiday is commendable. I have consistently experienced excellent service at this Starbucks location, and although I find it challenging to submit reviews due to my busy schedule, I felt it was essential to acknowledge this particular employee.
I sincerely hope she does not face any repercussions for her generous act. Good team members are invaluable in today's business environment, and I regret that I did not obtain her name. Please ensure that this message reaches her.

Read moreThis location is CONTAMINATED with BLACK MOLD and INFESTED with gnats/fruit flies . They are embedded in ALL the sinks , drains, and pipes near ALL the bars where drinks are made and in the back where dishes are washed ! The GNATS CONTAMINATE ALL the fruit inclusions , vanilla bean , malt , and matcha powders , as well as the frap chips and the syrups . They are clearly displayed in the pastry display case along with sitting pastry items . There’s black mold in and around ALL the sinks , in the pipes and drains . These are the sinks where they make the refreshers and Frappuccinos and the shakers , blenders , and pitchers for matcha are placed here on all that mold . Most employees are not cleaning the counters and sinks properly or even remembering to wash their hands . All of the dishes and store equipment are rinsed in luke warm water and thrown into the dishwasher without proper use of dish soap , hot water , and sanitizer by most employees . Roaches were found in the walk in fridge that house all of the food items , milks and refresher bases . Read moreAs others have said, they focus on the drive thru for priority. Was just there the other day and there were 5-6 employees working, so nothing noticeably understaffed. Placed a mobile order and my drinks came out very fast, which was great. No line of people at the register, about 5 cars in the drive thru, so a seemingly manageable scenario for the half dozen employees working. There were several of us waiting at the mobile order pickup area and I can see some people were waiting a long time for their food, which is what I was waiting for as well. The one employee they had making the food I can tell was only focusing on the orders for the drive thru. I went over to the register to see if I could politely ask about when my food would be ready after waiting 15 mins and none of the employees would acknowledge me. Finally, one of them asked if I was waiting on food (as if they already knew this is a recurring issue), and when I told them my pickup order name they saw my food was sitting in there for a while, but not brought over.
