Taste by Spellbound — Restaurant in West Hartford

Seems like people aren't to happy with their cake orders, but I'm just reviewing this as a cafe.

The staff is extremely friendly and the atmosphere is wonderful. Feels very comfy with the variety of seating options in a fairly open space. Bathroom is very clean, with flamingo wallpaper, and the free wifi makes it a perfect place to sit and do work. It isn't very crowded, normally, so I don't find myself getting distracted or bothered by noise.

The treats are good, perhaps a bit sweet, but the flavors are great. I care more about the coffee, which is served in a plethora of different ways and in a fancy teacup to boot.

I am a frequent visitor. I go in ANY chance i get (i live 30 minutes from the closest location). Her baked goods are just so goood! I dont know how to explain it. Her pastries (cookies, cupcakes, bars, EVERYTHING) just taste so well made! There is something about her way of baking- it isn't grandma or mom like, nor is it luxe but they taste like she has paid attention to EVERYbit of detail! Her products taste rich in flavor! Do NOT try to order custom cakes from this place. I have ordered a few beautiful cakes here for kids birthdays and they were nice (way too sweet for most grown ups - only eat anything here if you like American buttercream). But after the truly poor, unprofessional experience I just had I cannot recommend them and will not be working with them again. I initially sent my request over a month in advance, spoke to their staff repeatedly by phone email and in person about my order - and was just informed days before the party that they don't do the type of cake I ordered!
