TL;DR: Order was lost, three hours late, missing multiple items, and barely a refund.
I was planning my own birthday party and wanted to give this place a chance so I placed an online order for my party about 1.5 weeks in advance. I wanted to avoid something going horribly wrong. Well, around 30 mins past delivery time, I called wondering where my order was and somehow the order got lost in their online system. I was assured that they would make my order and send it out ASAP (I can understand that they’re short staffed just like most every where else right now so that’s not the biggest issue.) After about 1.5 hours, I call again and the delivery driver is still making his rounds. Okay, fine. 2 hours after the first phone call, my pizza arrives (3 hours after SCHEDULED delivery time). If that wasn’t enough, they forgot one of the family salads and a third pizza even though it was in my email confirmation. I called a third time and got the same shift lead I’d been talking to all night. He said they’d send the salad out but the pizza was coming out of his pocket and normally, I don’t support that but I originally paid for a third pizza (Mind you, I paid $85-$90 worth of food for my party from this place). So another 1 hour and 45 mins go by and I decided to call again to figure out where my salad and replacement pizza are. Turns out the delivery driver REFUSED to come back out to deliver those items because it was “too far”. The store from the delivery location was about 10-15 mins away. (Isn’t that in the job description?) The shift lead I’d been talking to all night assured me, once again, that the delivery driver would be talked to by the manager. Sure. The only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one is because we were comped a small dessert and I’m getting a refund for the salads. We placed an online order. The order was nearly $100. My husband picked the order up and brought it home. Everyone started to dig in until I walked in the room and saw that one of the pizza's was wrong. Shi*t happens. I understand. I called the restaurant and told them that they gave us the wrong pizza.
THEY ASKED ME TO BRING IN THE WRONG PIZZA!!! I explained that part of the pizza had already been eaten because my family had no idea what I had ordered and dug right in. They told me to bring it what was left. Seriously?!?! Ok, I thought, maybe they just need us to prove to them and they would let us keep it and finish it... after all, it was THEIR MISTAKE! So, I sent my son to retrieve the correct pizza and he took what was left of the other. I was SHOCKED when he came home with only the corrected pizza. They did take the other pizza... and did what? I would assume the only thing they could do was throw it away. I am absolutely floored by this! What a waste of perfectly good food and how gross for them to do that! They should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. I am so disgusted.
We will NOT be returning to Marco's. There are plenty of other pizza establishments... WOW WOW WOW!!! Steer clear...
Read moreUpdated review: Preface: I am NOT AGAINST tipping food places, BUT after regularly getting Marco's for the past few months I've experimented a little bit. (This is not a sit down restaurant where you get waited on) It seems that if you don't leave a good tip the quality goes down significantly. (I order 1 to 2 times a week and tip pretty well 3 out of 4 times we come) We essentially order the same thing every time. This time we paid to get 3 sauce cups and only received 1, and our pizza had hardly any toppings on it. But when I've tipped well, we get the amount that should be on the pizza normally, along with all of our sauce cups. I understand its a pizza joint and am not expecting perfection but getting noticeably worse quality on lesser tipped orders is sad and leads me to want to order elsewhere.
Original review: The pizza was great! As it usually is. Ordered online and chose the 'curbside pick-up' option. The pizza was ready, and I arrived and checked in online and sat and waited for over 5 minutes after arriving and decided to just go inside the store. It wasn't busy, and no one was in line, so I'm not sure what happened there. Good food, but I recommend just going inside instead of waiting for them to bring it to you. 5 extra minutes of my food losing it's heat...
