Happy China — Restaurant in West Lafayette

Great little carry out place with a slightly different menu than some of the other standard "Hong Kong" style Chinese places. As far as individual dishes that I've tried go:

Chicken with Mixed Vegetables - Exactly what it says, in a brown sauce. Vegetables include water chestnuts, snow peas, broccoli, and mushrooms.

Shrimp with Mixed Vegetables - White sauce - light flavor, perfectly cooked veggies. Super good.

Chicken with Broccoli - Exactly what you would expect - chicken, broccoli, brown sauce.

Mongolian Chicken - This should be called, "onions, Onions, ONIONS!" because it's a huge mouthful of onions. It's good at first, but becomes overwhelming. It's literally nothing but onions and chicken.

Hunan Chicken - Delicious dark sauce with chicken and big, perfectly cooked chunks of vegetables. One of my favorites.

Chicken Chop Suey - White sauce, good mix of veggies. Seems like a healthy choice.

Szechuan Chicken - Brown sauce with the standard mix of veggies and chicken. It has baby corn!

Moo Shu Chicken - Finely cut up cabbage, scallions, celery, wood ear, and carrots that you can put in their "pancakes" which are kind of like egg roll wrappers.

First and certainly LAST time trying happy china. Got takeout/delivery and they forgot some of my order. I called to let them know. A guy told me I need to open all the boxes (I think he ment containers, but really??) And then to count the boxes. A lady gets on the phone and tells me she KNOWS exactly how she positioned everything in my bag and it is all there and I was wrong. So now I'm irritated. The guy gets back on the phone and tells me well she said she did, she did. It just kept going back and forth with both of them. I eventually said ok, I want a refund for what I didn't receive or another order of what I paid for in the first place. They said no, & they can't help me! ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT A DOUBT RIDICULOUS! I'll never get food from there again! And plus the food was not even good. En Lai is way better!!! That's my go to. This is what I get for trying something new.

To Happy China, A SIMPLE, "I'M SO SORRY WE DIDN'T CATCH THAT. We do apologize!" Would have been decent customer service. Instead you had to be RUDE!

P.S Your food sucks to just as bad as...

I'll place a review under my own name so that no one accuses me of being part of the store staff, as many others' poor reviews have said of good reviewers.

This is a good little Chinese restaurant. It's got good food, great portions, and it's quick. I've eaten there for years and I've never had a bad experience with either the staff or the food. The staff remember me when I come in and the delivery drivers are always nice. Maybe others have different tastes and food is subjective, but to give some perspective, I hate fast food; I eat McDonald's maybe once a year if forced to. Happy China's healthy diet menu is nice and lets you control how much sauce is put on your food. Their crab rangoon is great. I don't remember anything I've eaten there to be "terrible." As for cleanliness, it's been of average cleanliness when I've gone there. It certainly wasn't filthy, as some reviewers have said. It's not a posh upscale restaurant but neither...
