First time in Lafayette, and so I looked up the iconic places. Triple XXX came up as a must visit. Pretty cool vibe to the place. You sit on a stool at a counter like an old school diner. After checking in, I was directed to sit where I wanted. A server responded promptly and asked if I wanted a drink. I correctly responded, "Root Beer, please!" The Triple XXX root beer was served in a frosty mug and was just like root beer should be ... super sweet and delicious! There was quite a selection of interesting burgers, but i played it safe and went with The Bert Burger, which was basically a bacon cheeseburger. It was a good burger. I did ask for my fries to be extra crispy and they were perfect. I also ordered a cup of chilli just to see what would come out. Was it going to lean towards Ohio Chili? Texas Chilli? Turns out it was soupier with a tomato based broth with beans and chunks of tomato. It was good, but different. I liked Triple XXX, and if I ever go back, I am going to try that peanut butter burger ... The...
Read moreSo, i usually look at reviews but not write a review, however, my wife and I traveled 2 hours to Triple XXX resturant just as we have done in the past. We only go to layfette just to eat at triple xxx thats all. Anyways last saturday when we went, we waited less than 5 minutes, no big deal. We ordered our food and it came out quick. as we were eating we were told to grab our plates and move to a differant seat after we were seated and eating. We thought that was wrerd but we did it anyways. So we settled in at the other seats and a few minutes later we were told to move once again to another seat and we once again had to pick up our plates and move. There were only the 2 of us. they stated theres a family of 4 that need seated. We only had maybe 3 minutes left till we wete done eating and we eould have left. but they told us we had to move. i thought this was very rude. it caught us so off guard that we didnt even think about getting a manager. thinking of this bad experience all weekend i had to...
Read moreWe ordered carry-out for our food (See photos). They look different than those photos I saw on other reviews. The food: Our side orders portion is smaller than what we got from another local restaurant. For the Burgers, we were expected to have one patties for the 1/3 lb burger. However, all our orders were used the same thin patties. The different between the 1/4 lb burger and 1/3 lb burger is 1/4 lb burger come with 2 pcs and 1/3 lb burger with 3 pcs. Also there is no different between steak burger and regular burger, they all look the same and I cannot tasted the difference. Onion rings are greasy and you can see how much oil is on the bottom of the box. The Sundae, it was only little over about half of the cup. For our To-Go order, we got no ketchup, salt, pepper or napkin. In my experience, MacDonald will at lease asked you if you want some condiment and napkin or not. We were disappointed since this place was recommended as one of the best restaurant...
