So if you haven't been to a Irish pub/bar lately or ever. You might want to start here at Nine Irish Brothers and after this visit no Irish bar/restaurant will hold a candle to this establishment. Staff, decor, food, and drinks are on par with a global experience in the back yard of Lafayette, Indiana. Funny I didn't even know about this place till recently. Not a native but damn close I spent all my summers as a child in Mulberry, and visit Lafayette often. Being a native of Chicago and presently living in Wisconsin I have been to a plethora of Irish establishments. Nine Irish Brothers is the real thing, and when you arrive you will forget where you are. I mean you are taken to an experience you may or may not have ever imagined. We met Gavin on our first and only visit to this amazing restaurant, he was kind, knowledgeable and our ambassador. He told us the history of the owner, gave us a walk through the place and was extremely friendly. We had drinks and some appetizers. We planned to return for dinner but it was not in the cards for the evening to come.🤣😂🥲. Our loss for sure. I have been talking about Nine Irish Brothers since I came home to Wisconsin to anyone who knows good food and service. In short, my visit back to Indiana consists of family and my new favorite/authentic stop NINE IRISH BROTHERS. Thanks Gavin for your professionalism and best table side manner. Tried this for lunch for the 1st time as it's not too far a walk from our son's apartment and it won't be our last. Parking lot seemed packed as we approached, which was a good sign for a Thursday lunch. Turned out to have plenty of seating available inside. It is a genuine Irish pub in atmosphere as well as menu offerings. Service by Connor was prompt, efficient, and friendly as well.

Wife chose the Veggie Sandwich ($13.99), which was loaded with peppers, squash, zucchini, mushrooms, and onions that kept falling out of the sandwich. Said she would ask for the sauce on the side in the future, but it was very tasty. Took half home, which air-fried up nicely to re-toast the bread.

Son and I both chose full orders of the Guiness Stew ($12.99). It was a decent-sized boat filled with beef stew and 2 scoops of mashed potatoes. While I did notice some potatoes in the stew as well, I could have gone for more carrots and onions to complement the generous amount of beef that permeated throughout the bowl. Only other change I might have liked would have been replacing one of the mashed scoops with a sweet potato mashed scoop as I recently had enjoyed in Ireland.

It was a tad early in the day, so I didn't partake of the beverage options, which obviously included Guiness (wish more places offered Murphy's). Looking forward to further investigating the menu of this establishment over the...

I love the food here and they have excellent non-meat options. However our last two visits have left me not wanting to return due to poor service. First time was somewhat busy and I get the whole “understaffed/overwhelmed” situation. I can generally deal with that. However, the most recent visit on 10/10/23 was terrible. The restaurant was not busy at all; maybe 3 families. So we get seated in an empty section and all is good. Server was polite but not overly attentive. Then just after we got our food the hostess seats another family right next to us. Like within elbow bumping distance. In a completely empty and quiet restaurant. Infuriating to say the least. In a crowded restaurant I understand close seating. But it’s also loud and you’re not unintentionally eavesdropping on your neighbors. In an empty and quiet restaurant it’s inexcusable for a hostess to make a lazy decision to group customers together just so a server doesn’t have to walk 10 extra steps to a table in another section. It’s pathetic management who doesn’t explain the importance of deferring to customer comfort vs employee convenience. We’ve been going to this restaurant for over 5 years fairly regularly.
