Pizza Uncommon — Restaurant in West Lafayette

If you're looking for a pizza for lunch, dinner, or just a snack, stop searching! I've lived in the area for a while and a few friends recommended I give this a shot. WOW! This is the best pizza I've had not only in Indiana but also, the Midwest. It check marks all the boxes in a good pizza. Every bite has a crunch but it's still soft on the inside. There is a unique flavor in everything that just compliments the pizza you're eating, even in the crust.

My wife and I both got a pizza to try, and some bread sticks. I got a 10" shiitake mushroom and truffle. The pizza tastes like the mushrooms are the star of the show and they rightly should be! The truffle oil just made compliments to the mushrooms. At first I was a little shy about the arugula on a pizza but the texture it brings is actually wonderful. The goat cheese in there tosses in a strong flavor that just helps make this masterpiece what it is.

My wife got a 10" sausage and pesto. Salty, sweet, bold, aromatic, all tossed together to make a unique and delicious pizza. Things I never thought should be mixed together have now challenged them elevated my pallet.

Lastly, we shared a 4 piece of Doritos tacos bread sticks. The sticks themselves are a thicker version of the wonderful pizza crust. Crunchy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside. It's more a personal taste but I didn't care for the Doritos and nacho cheese topping. If I could try another, I'd do the pepperoni and hot honey. The garlic dipping sauce bites back. It's very strong. A small dip goes a long way.

All in all, a really great experience. Pizza is fresh and I recommend eating at the store if you can as the crust deserves the respect of being eaten asap...

One of the best pizzas I’ve eaten! I’m not much of a pizza person but this place has my heart and probably the only reason why we would travel here to just eat the pizza

Food: Pizzas are superb and even the garlic bread. Pizza dough is very well made, crispy and well leavened giving it a lovely taste. The toppings and overall cheeses are great too! They do not hold back on toppings or cheese at all. The Parmesan they give on the side are great too! Our favourite is the Shitake Mushroom truffle oil pizza and it’s just the best for vegetarians like me! The ice cream too is great and they have combinations which are novel. My favourite is the combination of Nutella cookie and Madagascar chocolate ice cream!

Service : Super sweet staff and helpful too. Shout out to Zack for helping and a great conversation as well while we were there recently!

Ambience: Very spacious and well made. Great song mix and a very chill.

I absolutely would and also recommend others to take a detour to come here and...

I don’t know what’s going on with this location. It used to be great, but the last two times I’ve come, our party has waited 45+ minutes for pizza, and the food has not been good. The dough is a different color and does not have the same fluffy, chewy texture. It’s white and flat. And the pizzas have very few toppings.

I regularly order from the Win Hentschel location, and it’s consistently great food and service. This location needs some help.

For reference, I ordered the vegan spring pie from the WH location a few weeks ago, and it had tons of tomatoes, lots of cashew cheese, and a good amount of balsamic glaze. I ordered the same thing tonight from the campus location, and there is almost no cheese or balsamic glaze. There are maybe 2-3 cherry tomatoes sliced on the pizza. It’s basically a bunch of arugula on a flat, pasty disc.

The employee who took our order was friendly, and we enjoyed our gelato. That’s about the only positive thing I can say about...
