George's Kendig Square Restaurant — Restaurant in West Lampeter Township

My family and I were staying at a close by hotel. They recommended a diner a bit further away at first and then I asked them for something closer given how tired we were. George’s was the front desk’s hesitant response. We arrived and were quickly seated in a restaurant at 10-20% capacity. The staff were the best part of the dining experience. Kind and patient, even after my 2yo spilled his lemonade on the floor. They are the sole reason for the twos stars! The menu is also pretty expansive with options for the most picky eater. Food came quickly too. My son ordered the kids Hot Dog with fries, my wife the BLT with chips, and I ordered the pork chop. Food was ok at best. My wife’s BLT was fine but the chips were painfully over salted. The pork chop was bland but edible. The hotdog, while tasty, I took a bite myself, I’m like 90% sure is the cause of severe gastrointestinal issues for my son and later for me. May have legit ruined our mini vacation. I should have listed to the hotel host and gone to the better...

We have ordered from George's at least 5 times. We've always enjoyed our meals. We usually order via Grubhub in the evenings. Today we ordered it for brunch. The toast for the chipped beef was burnt. Not a little burnt it was extremely burnt. Shame on them for serving it. The chip beef was surprising very bland. Tasted like flour/glue. The chocolate milk i ordered was as warm as bath water. Which I don't understand. I do understand that it wouldn't arrive cold but come on... And what happened to your french onion soup...? It used to be fantastic. The turkey bacon ranch and apple juice was good. Maybe your day cooks are not as good as your evening cooks. Either way we will not be ordering from you again. It's a shame because as I mentioned we've had great meals...

This returant really has changed. It used to be a wonderful place to eat with family and friends. We went in there tonight for the first time in a few years. Our time was limited to eat so we ordered sandwiches. There was only five tables occupied and most were already eating. Our order took forever to the point where we had to get it to go. The waitress who was outstanding (the only bright spot in the experience) was very apologetic in the delay. I understand that in today's times noone wants to work but this was inexcusable. I strongly suggest to find another diner to eat at because your experience won't be a pleasant one. I can't praise the waitress enough but aside from that, everything was below standards you would expect from any...
