I have been eating at this place for YEARS! As an avid supporter of small businesses, Iāve always tried to support this place, as a true local business. Iāve recommended it to friends and itās kinda been our go-to after church. Not anymore! Over the last 2 yearsā¦this place in terms of customer service and customer experience has really gone downhill. š¢
My most recent experience was last night, Saturday June 22 about 7:45pm. We arrived after church and stood at the hostess booth for close to 5 min while the staff stood at the back of the restaurant near the kitchen yakkinā it up and not even bothering to turn around to see if someone had walked in. *tip - if youāre gonna have a āwait to be seated āsign, then have a bell at the front that we can ding so your staff knows someone is waiting. I finally had to walk back and ask someone if we could be seated. Not cool.
Once we were seated, the server brought us menus, apologized profusely for the wait and after another 5 min, brought us FREE drinks. I thought āok, heās trying, Iāll leave a nice tipā nope. The server was a nice kid, but he has ADHD or something because once he gave us our drinks we didnāt see him again for 10-15 min! We asked a couple of other passing servers in the restaurant for napkins because our drink cups were wet, nobody brought us napkins. We told a couple servers that we were ready to orderā¦no response for 15 min. š¤¦š½āāļø
Keep in mind the restaurant was almost empty inside. I think there were three or four tables outside, but inside the restaurant there were four servers running around and of course someone in the kitchen. As an ex restaurant manager and server myself, I couldāve run the entire FOH of the restaurant by myself. The servers mostly just stood around talking to each other. Not a good look when paying customers are waiting. Two times during the dinner, two of the people with me went to go use the restroom - - they had to walk over a large pile of garbage and debris in the pathway, there were two servers standing there, one of them with a broom and a dustpan, but nobody was cleaning. š® What?! Had I been their manager, they wouldāve had an immediate write up with possibility of termination. That is unacceptable behavior! Also, if there was a manager on duty, you wouldnāt have known it. š¤
We finally received our food about 8:35 (weād been there since 7:45) it was good. Our server didnāt check in with us once to see if we needed napkins, drink refills, dipping sauces, more water, or just to find out how we were doing. A little after 9 PM, we finally had to flag ANOTHER server down and ask them to let OUR server know that we were ready for our check.
I gave 2 stars out of loyalty but the truth is, it should be ZERO STARS. Thatās probably the worst restaurant experience Iāve had and observed in a long time, and unfortunately, Iāll probably never be going again, and I will never recommend you again. Very sad and unfortunate, because I feel like Lil Cooperstown has been a staple and āsure thingā for a delish affordable meal in historic downtown West Linn!...

It wasn't too busy and I was able to get a seat right away. The hostess came by and got my drink order while I looked over the menu. I was getting ready to walk out after about 20 minutes when one of the servers finally came by and took my order. I watched a bunch of them and they didn't look like they knew what they were doing. They couldn't figure out who was working where! My food came out by a completely different person and wasn't too bad. Pepperoncini's on a Philly sandwich was a bit odd but ok. I finished my tea and finally flagged down someone to get me a refill. When I finished dinner, I asked yet another person for a refill of my drink. When I was ready to leave, I asked the hostess for my check since I don't know who my server was!!! It took 18 minutes for them to figure it out and when she brought my check, it was a completely different person from what I figured was supposed to be my server! THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME SHE CAME TO MY TABLE!!! I paid for my dinner and did not tip anyone as I don't know who would get it. This has to be the worst service I have ever received anywhere in the western US. I travel a lot by motorcycle and like to check out new restaurants across the country. Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the 2nd time a friend and I went to have brunch in the bar. Thinking the first time 6 months ago was just a fluke of bad service. The bartender/waitress was very nice but the service there is sub par. We ordered 2 waters prior to ordering our food. When the water came 10 minutes later, dripping on the table, I asked for napkins. After another 10 minutes and the napkins never came, I got up and took a few small bar napkins. The waitress/bartender never acknowledged forgetting them. When asked what we wanted to order, we decided to split an omelette with cheese, hash browns and a side of bacon. The food arrived 20 minutes later. One plate, no silverware, potatoes ( not hash browns) toast ( which is extra and we did not order it)and a plate of burnt bacon. The omelette had about a tablespoon of cheese sprinkled on top. Why would the cook or server allow the burnt bacon to be served? They had to take the plate back to correct the order and returned it again with no second plate to split it and again, no silverware. We had to ask again for a second plate, a knife to split it, napkins and forks. The food itself was cold and not once did anyone ask us if we needed anything, a water refill or to check on how the food was. I do not recommend going here.
