Podnuh's Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in West Monroe

Absolutely the worst barbecue I have ever tasted! My daughter and I traveled from Alaska to our home here in North louisiana. Of course, we were looking for some good barbecue and in the past had had good experiences with Podnuhs. It didn't start out good. The lady screamed "Can I help you?!?!" I asked her if she could wait a few minutes and let us gather our thoughts about the menu. 15 seconds later, "can I help you?" There were no cars in the parking lot, no cars in front of us nor behind us, either. Not sure what the rush was? We ordered our meals. The pork sausage was not cooked in the middle and I might as well go to the store, put it in the oven and baked it for a few minutes. No seasoning, no Smoky taste, no nothing! The sliced brisket was so tough I could not swallow it except for whole pieces. Again, no smoke to taste, no distinguishing flavor at all. Just plain meat. I didn't even eat the whole thing. Brisket is supposed to be tender not tough and chewy. The barbecue sauce seem like it was ketchup and lemon juice. There just really was nothing signature to what used to be a really good restaurant. My family and I will not be using Podnuhs anymore. The place looks run down and they are just not taking care of it. When we walked in to get in line at the West Monroe location there was a couple that had been there several minutes waiting. There were 2 people behind the counter, one of which was just standing about 6 feet away. No one ever acknowledged us or them. We got in line and looked at the menu for 2-3 minutes then stood there waiting. Another man came in and stood in line behind us. This entire time nobody acknowledged any of us. There were no customers at the drive thru or in the restaurant so they were not busy. Eventually I asked the couple in front of us if they had taken their order and she said “no”. The young man was still just standing there so I asked him if anyone was going to take our order. He just shrugged and did not answer. My husband said “let’s go. I’ve had enough”. I loudly said “we are leaving. Nobody will take out order.” The other man walked out of the back and stood there just looking at us. He knew we were there the whole time. If they can’t speak to their customers and treat them with respect then I don’t trust what they would do to their food. I will never go back. Bar b que West was very friendly when we walked in....

We went through the drive through and service was completely horrible.. the young black gentleman working the window had a nasty attitude and never spoke. The other young black kitchen employees would not make eye contact as we sat waiting for 30 minutes… on top of that they screwed up my girlfriend’s poboy order and double charged me for mine. We were literally the only person in the drive through. Asked for a roast beef poboy with no lettuce or tomato. Also ordered a two meat plate with beans and fries. The person who took out order non professionally murmured back what I thought was correct. We pulled forward to the window.. was then mean mugged by the whole staff.. they finally stuck the food out the window like a damn monkey… we got home and I was missing half an order of ribs, the gravy was cold, and my girlfriend’s poboy had lettuce and tomato which they were instructed to leave off… This was by far the worst service we’ve had and we felt discriminated while there because we were white!
