Here’s the deal. I ALWAYS give restaurants a second chance unless it’s an all-around fail. But Cafe Med has some really great qualities— valet parking in their private lot. Adorable, appealing little restaurant with garden dining available & intimate little bar. Super friendly & accommodating staff. My friend & I ordered the fried zucchini, which was great. I ordered a nice glass of Pinot noir which was delicious. I ordered the Penne Arribiata which was totally inedible. I knew that it was supposed to be spicy, which I like & can typically handle. This was mouth-blistering to the point I couldn’t feel my lips & overcooked to the point that the pasta had dried out & hard to swallow. My friend tried it so I would know if I was being too harsh a critic. She agreed that it was too spicy hot to be palatable & was way overcooked. So I sent it back. I wasn’t mad, it was what it was, and I wasn’t going to judge the restaurant by one overcooked, mouth-numbing penne dish. The waiter took it back, I was super nice about it, but I wanted them to know because that’s what you do. The real insult came at the end when the manager made his way around to each & every table & diner to inquire about everyone’s meal & thank them for coming to Cafe Med. We had sat there, continuing to share her ravioli, & I kept looking up expectantly thinking he would come to our table since I had seen the waiter return my dish & point to me standing w the manager. You’d think they’d want to know what was wrong & what they could improve upon. The manager very blatantly ignored us completely. Never came by. Never looked our way. Clearly didn’t care or want to know. I would have been very nice about it. But he totally blew us off, which comes across as arrogant & rude. So to future diners, be prepared to be ignored if you send your food back, and be prepared to suffer a scorched mouth if you order the penne arribiata. The manager should know better. If I had been the manager I’d have gone directly to the diner and apologized & figured out where we had gone wrong. But that’s just me. In their defense they didn’t charge me for my entree, but to ignore us completely was a...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at Café Med on Christmas Eve with a party of four, and it was a fantastic experience from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the perfect tone for the evening.
Valet parking was convenient and only $5, making arrival a breeze. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for the outdoor space, which was beautifully equipped with heated lamps—ideal for a chilly South Florida winter night.
While Café Med doesn’t have a full liquor bar, their impressive wine selection and unique fermented vodka drinks more than made up for it.
The food was outstanding! We started with the Greek salad, which was unlike any I’ve ever had. It featured whipped feta as the base, topped with fresh cherry tomatoes—a delightful twist—served with a perfectly cooked side of salmon. For mains, we enjoyed the branzino and filet, complemented by a delicious side of sautéed spinach. Dessert was equally impressive, with the tiramisu and chocolate gelato being the perfect sweet finish to our meal.
Our server, Sasha, along with the rest of the staff, provided exceptional service throughout the evening. The attention to detail and genuine hospitality really stood out.
