Flanigan's 330 Southern Blvd., West Palm Beach, FL 33405
4.5 Stars (chain restaurant review)
With 25 in-state locations, one could certainly call Flanigan's a burgeoning star on the eatery scene. I am sure there are cruddy restaurants everywhere, but like engineers, there is a large accumulation of them in Brevard County. When I entered Flanigan's, I steeled myself for another fleecing. Apparently, the owners in Palm Beach want even low-end joints to serve good food. Bianca was our server today, and she was the only downside I experienced. She wasn't disgruntled, rude, or anything like that. She was just your average myrmidon doing what she's told, no more, no less, and that runs true to form with most places. I put in an order for one Texas Burger and a Tuna Steak Sandwich.
Bianca returned with my order, after taking the obligatory food review pics, I dug in to the comestibles at hand. First up on the Big Boy's ever-vigilant palate was the Texas Burger. Made with a 10 oz. Hand-formed patty of USDA Choice ground cow served up on a Kaiser roll with tomato, bacon, Bleu cheese, a stack of Tumbleweed Onions, and then drizzled with a homemade wing sauce. This burger was very good for a chain. Cooked to the perfect doneness and bursting with flavor I had to take more than one bite. Did I mention the bacon? The Tumbleweed Onions added an extra crunch and the wing sauce was flavorful yet had enough kick to it to remind you it was on a Texas-influenced burger.
The Tuna Steak sandwich had the same fantastic Kaiser roll as the base, but not the same quality as the ground bovine. This was obviously from a frozen tuna steak, but someone back there sure as heck knew how to prepare it! I ordered mine Blackened, and it was cooked to a perfect medium and exceedingly easy on the taste buds. If the quality of the protein was upped just a tad, this would have been a 5 Star review; regardless,

In the past five years, Flanigan’s was my go-to spot for delicious meals and friendly service. However, my recent visit turned into a dramatic debacle that left me questioning the competence and professionalism of the staff.
Upon attempting to order a beer, my friends and I were subjected to an absurd accusation: our legitimate IDs were deemed fake. Despite presenting my valid New Jersey driver's license, the server and manager adamantly insisted that it was counterfeit. Their refusal to serve us alcohol escalated into a tense standoff, with the threat of police involvement hanging over us.
Incredulously, the manager's explanation for their baseless accusation was even more ludicrous. They claimed to possess some sort of “mystical book" that magically discerns fake IDs from genuine ones. This laughable excuse only added insult to injury, leaving me flabbergasted at their incompetence.
Despite the humiliating ordeal, we chose to stay and dine, driven solely by our hunger and disbelief. However, the mistreatment did not end there. The server's attitude towards us became increasingly hostile, further tarnishing what was once a cherished dining experience.
In conclusion, my recent visit to Flanigan’s was marred by an unnecessary and absurd confrontation over our supposedly fake IDs. The lack of professionalism, coupled with the rude behavior exhibited by the staff, has irreparably damaged my perception of this once-beloved establishment. Unless significant changes are made, I cannot in good conscience recommend Flanigan’s to anyone seeking a pleasant...
Read moreI have been coming to this Flanigan’s for over 10 years. The service has deteriorated. I was being waited on By Kayla. I am a 40 year old with grey in my beard, My wife and my wife’s mother who is over 60 and asked for identification with our drink order. Fine. You’re doing your “job.” Then, my daughter who is 10 years old spoke up. She stated what everyone at the table was thinking. We have never been asked for ID at this Flanigan’s. The waitress then goes to address my 10 year old, “ It is the law, and we enforce the law here.”
Dear Flanigan’s, please reign in Kayla and Chad. I brought my concerns to Chad, and he refused to understand why the above was offensive. I’m still trying to figure out what that means. I have never been to this location and it be as empty as it was. A lot of things are making sense.
If you are black or Hispanic, avoid this location. I have never felt this targeted, disrespected, and threatened by wait staff.
A few moments later, as we are deliberating whether to stay or go, a white couple was sat down right behind us, who also placed a drink order and Kayla did not ask for their ID. This is something you see in documentaries.
When Kayla returned to our table, we kindly asked to please cancel our ticket and we left. And Chad wanted to hear nothing of what I had to say on my experience at his location that he manages. Stay away. I have never experienced this before and I can’t believe that things like this happen in 2023!?!
This experience occurred on Saturday 8/19 at Southern Blvd and Dixie Highway in...
