Upon entering the establishment, we were met with disorganization. After adding our name to the waitlist and being told there would be a 25-minute wait, we ended up waiting nearly 45 minutes before receiving the 5-minute seating alert. While waiting outside, we were only acknowledged by a busser—none of the female wait staff greeted us or provided any updates, except to tell us we’d be seated soon. The atmosphere was chaotic, and navigating to our table was difficult. It’s clear the management is in need of serious restructuring, as the lack of coordination is visibly affecting the customer experience. Once seated, it quickly became evident that this establishment has no concept of how to manage large parties. From failing to ensure everyone had cups and utensils to their rigid refusal to accommodate more than one bill, every step reflected poor preparation and inflexibility. To add to the frustration, we were seated with only five minutes left of happy hour, and by the time our server took our drink order, it was one minute past the deadline. Although we asked to speak with a manager, no one ever came. Our server agreed to honor our happy hour drinks but stated no other accommodations would be made for the extended wait or subpar service. Although the food was typical, the experience was ultimately defined by poor management, a lack of basic hospitality, and policies that prioritize the staff’s convenience over guest satisfaction.

Food is mediocre. As a native Colombian I know what quality to expect when it comes to Colombian cuisine. When I dined there, in the late evening, the food was horrible. Typical Colombian dish - Bandeja Paisa (they call it montañera) is served without the Colombian corn patty (Arepa) and if you ask for it you have to pay extra. The tostones in my guests dinner were like cardboard and when we brought it to the waitress's attention she said that they are like that because they are frozen and harden when fried. The beans seemed like they came out of a can but to give them the benefit of the doubt they were simply reheated overcooked beans - probably frozen and reheated feom day before like the plantains. To add insult to injury, after the bill was paid, with a 25% tip deapite the poor quality food and Service, they stripped the table of every thing and rushed us outbof there at 11:05 because they close at 11. News flash - proper service industry etiquette - you stop serving new clients at your closing time but you don't mistreat the patrons that were already served and paid for their over-priced poor quality food! I gave it 1 star because this review does not allow for negative stars. Lastly, bathrooms not clean and they are falling apart with broken tiles on the wall. They call themselves a sports bar but only because of the television sets - mire like a sports dump.

My wife and I are both .05% top customers at la Fonda according to Uber eats. Attached photos to show how loyal we’ve been to la Fonda just to be treated like garbage by someone who has no right to be called a manager. We ordered food, like we do 2-3 times a week and the manager gave it to the wrong driver with a similar order. My driver (who we can track and verify through Uber eats) showed up and they refused to give him the food saying they already gave him the food. My wife called and explained and the manager was extremely rude and dismissed and in more words basically told her to kick rocks. He refused to remake the order even though there was a driver standing in front of him with our order confirmation and receipt. He was more concerned with going home and telling us how right he is. Not only did we not get the dinner we paid for the Uber driver who drove all the way there to make a delivery and earn a living got left with nothing. Completely unbelievable treatment especially granted the amount of orders and money spent at the store between myself, wife, and company. We called back to ask for the managers name who was a guy working there at 9-10pm and he had the waitress hand up. We called again and his name is Carton or Carson. Fire this guy before you end up with no customers.

In my honest opinion. The food is always very good, but service was beyond horrible!! I’ve never been the one to play the race card, but myself and my fellow African-American work colleague went to eat there after a day at the office. All the other non-African-American customers being treated very well (being checked up on, getting their drinks refreshed, multiple customers who came in after us were all served prior…and we ordered a common meal, etc.).

Our server gave us our initial drinks and after about 45 minutes, a second person brought our order. That was it…for over an hour no one checked up on us! But the Hispanic customers around us continued getting served and checked up on! No refill on water….NOTHING!! My colleague and I were at a high table, in a very noticeable area, so it’s not as if we couldn’t be seen. We constantly watched while the other customers were receiving excellent service.

While trying to get the attention of a server, they just walked by as if we weren’t there. Finally, I caught the sever and asked for a refill on coffee…that took 25 minutes (and yes, other customers were still being checked up on and receiving service). The server put on a fake smile while in front of me, but her face suddenly had a look of irritation as she began walking away.

When the coffee was finally brought over, I asked to speak to a manager. One of the other severs (posing as a manager) came over and I explained the situation. She just looked at me with a blank face as if I was wasting her time. SHE GAVE ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE….NOTHING AT ALL…JUST A DUMBFOUNDED LOOK. She then just handed me the credit card machine to check out.

I went to the office the next day and spoke to another one of my African-American colleagues. He told me that he experienced a similar situation another time, when a group of African-Americans who work at my office, went there after work. He said that the servers were very rude and they were ignored service throughout. This was very disappointing to hear, As I was hoping this was just an isolated incident. I know now...

Walked in, no one acknowledges me. After a few minutes I looked for a seat. 3 waitresses at the counter, two customers together being helped. I sat for a while.

A black woman from the kitchen comes out to speak with the customer that was at the counter, discussing something about the menu. Still no one at my table. When she finish, she stand there and get on her cell phone texting. After a few minutes K asked if she could take my order. She walks over and tells a waitress to take my order.

When the waitress comes over, I asked what’s this Sunday’s Speacial. She go ask the black woman from the kitchen. She comes back, Snapper with salad rice, avocado, and plantain. I ask if I can get beans instead of salad. Black woman says No. I ask how much is it. She says it’s $18 and change. I’m telling them that’s not as peacock. I been coming here almost two years and it’s always $18 after taxes as regular price. Black woman walks away.

I tell the waitress, that’s type of Special same price as any regular day is stupid. Pulse it forces you to get what THEY SAY as side dishes all for the SAME REGULAR price.

Okay. I order the Snapper at regular price with sides that I WANT. Waitress finally comes with it after 20 mins since I ordered it. Tells me. Wait. I’m going to get your plantains. I look down and it’s a bony, tiny, malnutrition’s fish.

I am use to them presenting the meatiest, nicest and juiciest fish on the plate.

Today was just a pathetic day with them. Really isn’t what it use to be. I left the food and walked away. I went to La Granja. You want tasty food with good service. Stop by La Granja here on Northlake Blvd.

The KING FISH is Awesome for the same $18, pulse you can choose the side YOU WANT and it comes with...

It's with a heavy heart I have to leave this review because I use to love coming to this place for lunch. Almost everyday before covid. The atmosphere and the TV'S, the decoration and up until recently the food and service was pleasant. This month I've gone in 3 times and a week ago I was in for breakfast and had a terrible experience. Mind you this is 11 11:10am on a tuesday and the restaurant is not busy at all. I ordered a simple breakfast, scrambled eggs and an arepa with cheese. At the same time I came in another gentleman sat down at a different table and ordered what seemed to be a churrasco and rice and beans. By 11:25am 11:30am I look over at the man and he was already half way through his meal. I waited until 11:40am and my server Yura had not come to my table once to tell me anything about my order. I got up and complained at the bar where the manager was and she did absolutely nothing to make anything better. She just stood there with a blunt expression and offered no apology for whatever mistake happened whether the kitchen or the staff forgot the order. On Saturday June 12 I was there with my girlfriend and her family and the server completely forgot my girlfriend's order which was simply a burger and fries. All the food came out and she had to leave to work without eating that day. I can understand that day was a little busier and it was a Saturday and the server apologized about the mistake. I love this place and hate to leave comment like this but I hope they can learn from their mistakes and leaving this review is the only way they can give the attention to a matter like this. 45 minute wait for a simple breakfast (scrambled eggs and an arepa with cheese) that never came. No apology. So...
