Shady owner Ken Weiner. Left my wallet on the counter when the store was empty Saturday afternoon around 3:40, called the store right when I noticed it was gone and was told there was just a shift change and they would check with the previous sales girl and get back to me. They also said they would have the owner check the video from the cameras inside. No one called back that night. Left a voicemail early Sunday, no one called back. Spoke with the “manager”, Courtney I believe her name was, and she said they are not responsible and the owner would not help me. I asked to please have the owner call me and at least tell me, as I am sure any decent business owner would want to help if able to. All methods of possible contact have gone unanswered. It is very suspicious that they do not want to help, especially when I know the exact time and date, just check the cameras to make sure it was not an employee. Either the employees are not relaying the messages to the owner, or he just does not care to be bothered. I now have to get the police involved in attempt to clear up this matter. My family and I been going to this location for a long time, as well to the location off Southern Blvd. I refuse to spend another cent here and will make the drive to another establishment, like Cecilie’s in Boca. Update: Owner said he got the messages but never checked the camera and the footage is deleted after 72hr. Please do not give money to such a horrible owner. He does not care about his customers!

Read moreI usually love Rita’s but my first experience after the pandemic was awful. I walked in, was waiting a while for someone to greet or say anything to me. When a young lady finally came out of the back, she completely ignored me & started talking to people behind me. When I reminded her that I was first she rudely took my order. When I went to pay all I had was a few 100 dollar bills and she said she couldn’t take it. So now she wasted the water ice & will never get my business again. I was hot, sweating & on break from my job. All I wanted was a cold treat. How does a huge business like Rita’s not have the means to break a 100 dollar bill...it makes no sense. I will never be back.
In response to the owner: I’ve worked in the food/restaurant/customer service industry my entire life. Never have I worked somewhere (especially as big & well known as you guys) that can’t change a $100 bill. I thought maybe it was because you guys didn’t keep that much cash on hand. But you’re saying it’s because you don’t want to risk counterfeit bills. That makes the situation even worse. For a few dollars you can buy a pen that solves that problem. Or simply hold the bill to a light. There are multiple ways to tell wether or not a bill is counterfeit & if you’re employees can’t be trained to tell the difference between a real & counterfeit bill, that is a much bigger problem than I originally thought. I'm literally 11 years old right now, and it was the 21 this year on June and it took us a waste of time to get there, we wanted simple orders, My little brother wanted a large cone with vanilla custard and sprinkles, and we got it, wasn't even a swirl. Literally a glop of icecream, he couldn't even eat it, it was falling apart. I had wanted a large cup of banana custard and this happened before we got our stuff, I wanted it with whip cream on it and this girl came out here with a cup of vanilla, and it was more sturdy then when she came out with the correct order and my little brother's order, we literally had to leave and they can't even take 50 or 100 dollar bills.
