I love Ramen and anything thats asian food. Been to many ramen places where they are authentic and you can tell and taste how work it took. Having this new place that has been opened a couple months now closer to get Ramen is a amazing. Ive been wanting to tried out for a while to see how it is and decided to go for dinner.
Place is very clean, tidy and organized. It was empty so no hard trying to get a table quickly and it looks very pretty inside.
Our server was kinda of a awkward situation and lost.
Here’s why food is a 3/10 for me.. Appetizer were good. We ordered scallion pancakes and the pork bao buns. Pancakes were crispy and the bao buns the pork was tasty just slightly too sweet. I ordered the Korean spicy cheese noodles and my fiancé the Tonkotsu ramen.
Spicy Noodles: If you’re craving noodles and this is the closest place to go it will fill you up and it will satisfy the craving. Portion size it was good, now it says stir-fry. Now i ordered with beef which it was cooked but it just was more steamed than sauté, meaning it had no sear marks or anything. The whole dish it was ok, it didn’t have much flavor honestly, it was not spicy for me i added more spice at the table and soy sauce. Now the ramen was a real let down..the portion was big and i appreciate that. The broth was our downfall, it tasted like powdered pork broth, you could feel the grittiness in it kinda, and then that translated into everything in it tasting the same.
Now here’s where i have a bone to pick. The food came out very fast, like 1-3 minutes food was on the table which was kinda confusing and weird for us. Here’s why: Yes you want food to come out quick, and obviously it depends on what you order, and at the same time you don’t want that because at least for us, then it gives you the sense of what is done to order, how much is cooked fresh or made in house and how much is already done or how much is pre made items.
I am basing this review in my restaurant, as a profesional chef for years now and eating experience. I’ll give it to them because they are kinda the closest ramen style restaurant in the area they are situated so business it’s gonna be there.
Go and tried out for yourselves it may be your place and your experience may be...
Read moreCame here for a late lunch. I ordered the pork bao, takoyaki, and a tonkatzu ramen with char shui pork belly. The server was friendly and refilled my water consistently. Both him and I believe the owner checked in to make sure I was enjoying everything. Pork bao was really good 3 pieces per order, it was soft and fluffy with sweet glazed tender pork! The takoyaki came out really 🔥 hot so be careful biting into the first one, or don't go when you are overly hungry. Smoky bonito flakes finely sliced nori some mayo and a sweet brown sauce. Very savory, smoky and delicious. The ramen was very good, the pork belly was sliceable but tender to bite into I really like it. Noodles were a little chewy the way ramen noodles should be! At the end when I was paying the server asked me to wait one more minute because they wanted to give me a small dessert as a thanks for coming in. They gave me I believe it was an apricot flavored mochi ice cream. It was a very nice gesture and tasted good. All in all I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for good tasting food at a reasonable price.
A note to the owner... Please advertise heavily! You are not the first good restaurant in this space. I know it is in a Publix plaza and that's USUALLY a solid anchor for foot traffic. However your location isn't easily noticeable in that corner. (being far from the road and behind that fountain/ courtyard area) Send out menus to neighborhoods close by and put up the flags like when you first opened. It is imperative for you to succeed and I truly hope you do! Let all the residents of Village Blvd know you are there. Good luck and thank you for...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Z Ramen, and I can confidently say it was one of the worst meals I've encountered in a long time. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was off-putting. The staff was cleaning tables with a cloth that emitted a foul odor, setting a concerning tone for the visit.
When my meal arrived, I was hopeful, but that quickly turned to disappointment. The noodles were undercooked, lacking the texture and flavor one expects from a good ramen. The chicken broth had a strange smell, and I couldn't shake the feeling that something was very wrong. The egg that accompanied the dish looked as if it had been sitting around for ages—definitely not appetizing.
To make matters worse, the overall environment was unpleasant. Despite the attractive decorations, the lingering scent of stale mop water or dirty dish rags permeated the space. It was so overwhelming that both my daughter and I ended up feeling sick and had to step outside, where I ended up throwing up in the parking lot.
Adding to the chaos was the staff's loud conversation about their pets, which only contributed to the disarray of the dining experience. I’ve enjoyed ramen from various places, and none have ever left me with such a negative impression.
I won’t be returning, and I strongly advise others to think twice before...
