Hey all! This is a really nice place, but I will say two things to be careful of
Service: I believe this is everything, especially given the times where in! I felt service could have been much better especially how much you’re spending there. The blond hostess should be a little more attentive and expressive when spoken to. Single wording somebody when there addressing you is not really ideal especially if you have a family (like myself) speaking to you and all your saying is; no, yes, I guess… etc. it just came off as if she just wanted to take my payment and just get me out of there. I don’t know how one should take that and I’m a family of 4+. You can determine that.
Atmosphere: the set up is great! But I felt the music was a bit loud, I asked to turn it down a notch given at that time we were the only ones there. The barista went to the back and then came back with a response “idk how to do that, I don’t have control over this” which is fine in all. But it was a little hard to converse between me and my spouse. Maybe it’s a thing to have a little above average volume Lofi R&B music playing. I think there should be access to some sort of control of volume. idk, I’ll let the reader determine that.
Over all- food was great and it’s really done up well, tons of activities to do in there and really cozy furniture!! Just wished service was better and it would be the...
Read moreWent for breakfast with two other people. After they received their food, I was asked by the female waitress if I ordered something, yet she was the one who took the order down. At the register, she asked me if I wanted the croissant or kaiser roll, and I said croissant, which i was charged for $12 . I waited more than 10 minutes after the other people got their food. She gave me the kaiser roll. When I told her I ordered the croissant. She sent the boy waiter to tell me I told her the breakfast sandwich. I said I did say sandwich, but it was obvious that I ordered the croissant which I was charged for. I was told by the boy waiter that I have to take the kaiser roll and pay for the croissant. I said I did already. He said I'm not understanding him. When we asked for the manager, the manager didn't bother to come to the table. He went to look at the ticket and saw that I ordered the breakfast croissant. The manager didn't even apologize. He kept walking past the table. I felt very uncomfortable and wouldn't be...

I used to enjoy coming to Carmelo’s Coffee to get work done in a relaxed atmosphere, and I’ve supported the business many times—buying food, drinks, and spending well over $20 on several visits. But after my last two experiences, I won’t be returning.
The owner has made me feel uncomfortable and pressured for simply sitting down before making a purchase. Despite being a regular paying customer, I was approached within minutes of sitting down and told I needed to buy something immediately because “this is a business.” I understand supporting small businesses is important—and I’ve done just that—but there’s a respectful way to handle customers, especially regulars.
If you’re looking for a welcoming space to work or relax without being treated like a walking wallet, this isn’t the place. There are plenty of other cafés that value both community and customer service. Unfortunately, Carmelo’s has made it clear that your money matters more than...
