EDIT** Customer service called and spoke with me as well as the store. Both apologized and made an attempt to make the situation better. However, I refused the offers as it wasn’t about money. It is about the experience and I did not have a good one in the store. It took 4 hours for the associate to built a connection with us only to be destroyed in a 15 second interaction with another store associate :(
What started out as an amazing experience at City Furniture quickly turned bad. When we walked in we were immediately greeted and told to take a look at the paper signs as they would have more info on prices! My sales associate that was helping was awesome and helped find everything to our exact needs. We found a mattress and bed that we fell in love with and priced out. While looking at the “on display” price sign. We were finalizing with the manager Jordan. We noticed there were two different prices for the same mattress at VERY different prices (1,700 vs 3,000). He said he would honor the price on the sign as it says “item on display”. Then when he showed the estimate he did not apply the discount as promised. I pointed it out and he acted like he had no idea what I was talking about. Keep in mind between the verbal promise and the estimate he went on a 15 minute “lunch” and came back trying to act all confused. Then when I asked him about why the estimate is that price he said he would apply the discount after I sign. Yeah cause I totally believed that. So I asked him to apply now since we were planning on paying the taxes to lock in the sale today it’s now a problem again and he has to go get another manager. I didn’t get her name but she had brown curly hair. She came over looked at the one price and said “yeah no” with an attitude. Didn’t introduce herself or even a simple “hello” just that. So I asked her why the prices are different and she replied “it’s all over the store if you look”. Okay well this one says the item ON DISPLAY. and there was only ONE FLORIDA KING MATTRESS on display. I explained that is misleading to customers and that it wasn’t my mistake. She said no discounts can be made and I expressed my frustration that we had already been told one price and now she comes in and is totally rude about it after we spent all day pricing out beds with the sales associate and other manager and now she comes in and says no. I informed her that it is misleading and that was her mistake not mine. She immediately removed the sign that says “on display” which only affirmed me that they made a mistake and she did not want to take accountability for it. I walked out after wasting a good 4 hours of my life in there and I will not be returning. There are better stores that have employees with more integrity than city furniture. Side note * I probably would have stayed if she had a better customer service attitude and didn’t come in with a nasty attitude but she was rude and came off hostile and cold. I will not be back and don’t advise anyone else that wants to be treated with kindness, respect, and honesty as a customer. Also I NEVER asked Jordan for a discount he offered it because it was wrong on their end. Don’t offer something as one thing and try to swindle me and sign for another price. City furnitures word means nothing because they won’t honor anything...
Read moreThis was so convenient and got great service immediately this week . After hurting my back, I've had no place to sit comfortably in my living room. I spent an entire day looking for a white recliner chair and the first place I looked was City Furniture bc it's so close and their delivery policy is often same day or next day delivery and I needed something RIGHT AWAY. After exploring every option and store , considering I could not visit the stores bc of my back pain , I checked them out on line . City had a small ( I wasn't looking for large bc once your house is furnished it's hard to put a recliner in a space bc of their size), white leather recliner at an amazing price . It was exactly as described , so I was thrilled ! My salesperson, Sara, was wonderful and helpful in this huge place . It's gigantic and filled with very nice modern furniture and also added Ashley furniture too . What also impressed me was their text and tracking system ! It was more thorough than Uber! I was texted the day before which gave me the ability to track starting the day of delivery and I could choose my window of delivery time . I was told which number I was during that time and could follow the actual truck in the route . It also included the names of the people who were delivering ! As they got closer , my window was narrowed to 10 minutes before delivery and they came exactly on time they estimated to the minute. The chair was set up perfectly and it saved my life. Way to go City Futniture ! I'd like to add that I just received a personal phone call from Sara who sold me my chair at City Furniture. What a nice touch instead of an emailed survey ! She actually cared about my comfort and how I lked the chair . Also she wanted to know how the delivery went which was perfection . But such a huge store taking a personal interest in how they did would have earned them an extra star if I could !
Update Updated to three stars due to Lattanna, CITY Furniture's social media specialist reaching out and demonstrating the correct customer service attitude and doing everything in their power to make things right. Lattanna was limited in what she could do but what I appreciated more was the effort and sincerity behind her actions. Thank You Lattanna.
Allocating 1 star to Raymond who was the only pleasant and professional part of our experience at City Furniture West Palm Beach.
Our experience began when we came in looking for a loveseat and sofa set. One of the sales persons upon entering engaged me and told me about a promotion that was going on. I then walked the sales floor and found what I was looking for. I came back later that day with my partner for approval to purchase and that's when we met our sales associate Raymond. When I brought up the promotion that I was told about earlier, Raymond informed me that it was over the day before but he happened to overhear the other sales associate telling me about it earlier so he went to management to see if they could honor it. They did. The loveseat was not on the sales floor but the sofa was. One of the features we were looking for was power outlets in the console of the loveseat. The product description online stated that the loveseat did come with this feature and when we asked about it we were told that it should based off the online product description. We purchased the set.
Delivery Day. My partner calls to tell me that the loveseat does NOT in fact have the power outlets in the console. I immediately called City Furniture and spoke to a quite rude Alicia who told me that our sales associate was not in that day and there was no manager available. She took my information for a call back which I recieved from customer care which in they could do nothing about our situation.
The following day, I went in and spoke to Manager Crystal and told her about the issue, and she said she was going to make some inquiries and get back to us by EOD Monday 4/15. After not hearing back, I again went back to City Furniture to see if I could find a resolution. I spoke to another manager Remi who informed me that they had been in touch with the vendor/manufacturer and the loveseat did not come with power outlets and the information online was incorrect. Their solution was to offer us to reselect another set but nothing on the sales floor matched what we were looking for. We tried to see if Remi could offer us a discount on the loveseat we had already purchased due to their screw up but she was uncompassionate and firm that there was nothing that could be done in that regard. Customer service with the exception of Raymond seems to be a thing of the past.
