DINERS BEWARE! Let me begin by saying after having not been to this restaurant in a decade, we ate there several months ago and had a positive experience leading us to return, but after tonight, never again. First red flag: We waited over 45 minutes for dinner during which time I watched a gentleman pick-up an order, leave the restaurant, then return with the food telling them it wasn't his order. While he stood waiting for his food, a woman came in for her order and they gave the bag of food he returned to her - again, this was AFTER it had left the restaurant. Second, third, and fourth red flags: From the dining room you can see into the kitchen. I witnessed multiple people (waitstaff and kitchen staff) handling bread bare handed, including after it had come out of the oven and was on it's way to tables. One waiter combed his hand over his facial hair while in the kitchen and the person making pizzas was drinking from an open cup at the station. Not ONE time did I see anyone in the kitchen or anyone coming and going from the kitchen wash their hands. Had I not already eaten, I wouldn't have stayed. Concerned, I asked to speak to the manager and instead was provided the owner. Good news one might think, but just as others who have written negative reviews have said, she was defensive and unapologetic. She was unconcerned about the handling of the bread because it "goes in a 500 degree oven," though I'm still not certain how this helps prevent contamination when it's handled in the same way when it comes out. She DID want to discuss how gloves are not recommended because they can lead to cross-contamination, but failed to mention their use should be replaced with frequent handwashing. She could not speak to food being returned and sent back out because she "didn't see it." She chose to ignore the issues involving Florida Food Hygiene Code 64E-11.005 Personnel in which people in food prep areas are required to have facial hair covered and that beverage containers used by personnel are required to have a tight fitting lid. Instead I heard about how they have been in business for 43 years and have never had an "issue," thus implying the problem was with me and not her (them); however, this is my first and only negative review to date. When the OWNER has such a cavalier attitude about food safety and is closed off to any feedback, do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere. There are plenty of other family owned businesses in the community worth supporting. Update: Owners response is nothing short of what was expected. The facts are that we did not finish our meals or eat dessert (I’ve attached the receipt). We had a 6pm reservation and didn’t get our check until 7:39. If it was <30 minutes for dinner, how was the other 1+ hour spent? The first person picking up food was not a food delivery service and only knew he had the wrong bag because it was open - seems you suddenly have a lot of clarity on an issue that last night you “didn’t see.” Areas where pizza, salad, and bread is being prepared IS food prep - yet no handwashing, no facial covering, no lid. That's the facts. Another fact is that you personally have not been the owner for 43 years and need to stop riding off the coat tails of your predecessors, that is, if you want the business to be around another 43.

Atmosphere: 10/10 Food: 9/10 Service Time: 9/10 Service Quality: 10/10 Overall: 9.5/10 Server: Sergio Stepping into this restaurant transports you to an authentic Italian establishment in New York founded by immigrants—in the most spectacular way. This is the true embodiment of culture. Every dish is crafted with meticulous care and fresh ingredients. Drinks: The Chardonnay selection is impeccable, and the absence of measured pour systems allows for bartender creativity, resulting in generous, perfectly balanced drinks. You won't be disappointed. Appetizers: The calamari arrives fresh and perfectly fried—crispy exterior with that ideal tender "bounce" in each bite. A squeeze of lemon completes this delightful starter. The stuffed mushrooms were served warm throughout our large order. A touch more salt would elevate them further, but that's merely personal preference. The bread is simply outstanding—baked on-site (though imported from New York) with an exquisite crunch and served with salted butter. The flavor profile stands apart from most restaurants. The charcuterie board shows thoughtful curation. The only possible enhancement would be a wider variety of cheese options and perhaps some cornichons or capers. Again, just personal preference. Entrées: The 14oz Veal Chop is spectacular—stuffed with spinach, prosciutto, and cheese. If you're looking for a satisfying combination of generous portion and remarkable flavor, this is your dish. The Veal Parmesan came with well-prepared pasta, but the veal itself was slightly overcooked, resulting in a drier, tougher texture than ideal. Not a disappointing dish by any means, just a small step away from perfection. Dessert: As someone who rarely indulges in sweets beyond a single bite, I could devour an entire pan of their tiramisu. It's the perfect contradiction—subtle yet bold, with delicate layers and hints of sweetness balanced by sophisticated alcohol undertones. Clearly made in-house with passion. The owner and staff were attentive and genuinely pleasant throughout our visit. The complimentary chilled limoncello to finish the meal was a thoughtful touch that perfectly concluded an exceptional dining experience.

Pizza Review: Zuccarelli's (West Palm Beach): B-

(I'm rating 4 because I've heard good things about their food besides pizza from my trusted clients so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt taking into account their nice service)

Tried Zuccarelli's via suggestion from a friend. Nice place, good location right in Okeechobee Blvd between 95 and the turnpike.

I ordered a x-large with half sausage and half mushroom, my usual test pie. Also wanted to order a plain slice for the standard taste test but they didn't sell those, where most other places would give me a slice for this ... Here i ordered a full personal pan pizza. The x-large was not that big and overall i thought the price was a bit much for all this, but they are not in a cheap location either.

Crust: The dichotomy of one of the most critical parts of the pizza... This one has a nicely cooked, crispy and medium light consistency. It was actually one of the most fun foods I've ever eaten, just the way I like it, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. However, almost no taste. So what I'm actually doing is I'm eating the pizza, and leaving the crust on the side and I will eat the crust separately and dip it in my own marinara sauce or whatever other sauce I may have that will be complimentary to this kind of bread because honestly the way the the bread is actually made and cooked, it is a real pity to just throw it away, that's how good the consistency is.

On the personal pizza, the crust was thicker and harder, was a waste... This is usually why I only order one slice to taste.

Sauce and cheese: Sauce I could also barely taste. Cheese was nice overall, definitely above average, the right amount and consistency. About the same on the personal version.

Service: I didn't eat there but the lady on the phone was polite and professional. At the place, Mike Zuccarelli introduced himself to me when I told him my succinct story... very nice guy, was clear he cared about his business, probably why they been in business for over 40 years.

Verdict: Lots to like about this place... If only they would add more seasoning to their crust and use better sauce, this could easily be an A, or A+ if they also lower the price but at that location, it's probably impossible... If you spend money and like overall Italian and not a pizza snob, I'm sure this place will make...

I’m thrilled to have reconnected with these wonderful people after all these years! This gem has been a beacon of authentic Italian cuisine for 43 remarkable years, and it’s easy to see why they continue to thrive!

From the moment you step inside, Zuccarelli’s offers an ambiance that beautifully marries classic charm with a contemporary flair. The décor is elegant yet inviting, creating a cozy atmosphere where every guest feels like a cherished member of the family. It's not just the setting that’s warm; the owners extend a heartfelt welcome that makes you feel right at home, treating you with the kind of care and attention that you’d expect from beloved relatives.

But the true magic of Zuccarelli’s lies in its food. Each dish is a celebration of homemade goodness, crafted with the same love and tradition that’s been passed down through generations. The pasta, the seafood, the sausage, and the sauces are a symphony of flavors that will evoke fond memories of the Italian meals you grew up on. Every bite is a testament to the restaurant’s dedication to authentic Italian cooking, with ingredients that sing with freshness and quality.

The menu offers a delightful range of classic Italian dishes, each one meticulously prepared and bursting with flavor. From the rich, savory lasagna to the delicate, perfectly seasoned seafood, every plate is a masterpiece of culinary artistry. The pizza is a standout, with its crispy, crust and delectable toppings, delivering a taste of Italy that’s both nostalgic and exhilarating.

It’s a place where you can savor the true flavors of Italy while feeling like part of a family. Here’s to another 43 years of extraordinary food and heartfelt hospitality!
