Great Wall Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in West Reading

Honestly, I HATE giving bad reviews. Whether it’s an app, a product, a restaurant, or anything, I always try to look at the positives. But I can’t find anything positive to say about this place, primarily because my experience from this place and their food didn’t even get to happen.

My favorite go-to Chinese place doesn’t deliver, so I thought I’d try this place out because the reviews didn’t seem so bad. I called and ordered food at 9:04pm, and they took my order no problem. She told me it would arrive in 45 minutes (which I know actually means about an hour and a half, and I was completely fine with it) and that was that. Seeing as they close at 11:30pm, I didn’t think there would be a problem.

After the hour and a half I had been prepared to wait had passed, at 10:30pm, there was still no food. No calls on my phone either. I still had hope that it would arrive though.

By 10:50pm I gave up on expecting them to arrive.

Their closing time of 11:30pm rolls around, and the food never came. Never got a call, or at least an excuse. Nothing.

I ordered two hours and a half before they closed, and they couldn’t manage to make $33 worth of food happen. The thing that bothers me is that the lady never said “Oh, we’re really busy so it may take longer.” or “We aren’t able to deliver tonight.” or literally ANYTHING that may have indicated any sort of problem. I’m pretty tolerant and I would have just appreciated the honesty and ordered from somewhere else from the beginning.

Beyond disappointed with this establishment and will definitely not be attempting to order from here again. Maybe if I ever got to actually try their food, I’ll...

If I could give a half a start I would. First I called and got nothing but an attitude. When I placed my order I asked for an order of wings WITH hot sauce. I got the wings with one package of hot sauce. When I called to ask what happen their reply was, " We dont sell wings WITH hot sauce. We put some hot sauce in the bagh." I normally don't complain much but they were as stingy as to charge me $1.25 for a side of brown sauce. .25 cents more then an 8 oz soda. I dont under stand how a restaurant could be so stingy with their customers. When we the customers are the ones who keep you in business. I will now order my food from New Haun on 3rd and Penn. They are amazing and genuinely nice people. The great wall has fallen for me!......... Go figure I go to eat my food. The dumplings were way dry, The shrimp toast way burnt, the sauce that they charged me 1.25 for was super salty. The only good thing I got was the chicken wings and that's because I drowned them is some hot sauce that I had at my store. NEVER AGAIN WILL I ORDER FROM...

I placed a delivery order which cost $51 and advised that it would be about 45 minutes. Which I was fine with. An hour past and called to see where my food was being that it’s daytime. The rude woman who answered advised she would be there soon. About 2 minutes later I’m called by the delivery lady and advised coming out. When I get to the door she is sitting in her vehicle. She gets out and hands me a receipt to sign and my food advising me “you’re welcome”. Advised her that would not tell her thank you for late food an unacceptable customer service. I spent $51 and only because I did not feel like going outside. She continues to walk to her car yelling at me. NEVER seen such behavior or cluster of nasty attitudes towards customers. Will NEVER order from them again and will just go pick up somewhere where they appreciate my business. Food is very mediocre and...
