Ive had this place years ago and wasnt a big fan so I never returned since theres SO many options in WSP for the same type of food. But, we needed something late and it was one of the few places open so decided to give it a try and went here with the family. Staff was okay, not very friendly but not rude. A few of us got burritos, and one of us got a chimi. Food was mediocre. Not bad but nothing to write home about. Pricing seemed reasonable for the amount of food. Would have preferred a rice and beans as a side for the combo instead of chips. But, it was fine. Chips were good.

This place feels kinda like a little bit more authentic chipotle, I guess. It's got mostly like short order stuff. Nothing too complicated. The tortas did look huge and tasty so maybe I'll try that if I go back.

Overall, okay place. Is it the best burrito in west st paul? No. But,...

Don’t let the location trick you, this is the best Mexican in the metro area. The staff is amazing and always excited to get you to try new things. I was in town for a little over a month for work and my second week there I found Pinedas and went there 3 days in a row after I found it and made sure to eat there at least twice. Week until I left. They have the best regrows beans I’ve ever had and their take on a Cuban is amazing. If you smoke one before you eat it, it’s even better.

I wish I could move this place to where I live so I could keep eating it. If you’re reading this, go there and eat for me...

The vibe in here is "local favorite."

There an extensive menu that spans from authentic plates to burritos with french fries in them.

They have combo plates and dishes, tacos and burritos. Specials on the weekend.

The menu is on a large board over the kitchen and your protein choices are on the counter where you stand in line. If you order a burrito then they'll get you started and then the options for what goes inside are on another sign as you move down the line (bars.)

The decor with the 70's chalet style and the multicolor windows is a cool shout to a bygone era.

Staff is friendly, food is dank....

Very relaxed atmosphere, the people behind the counter were kind and patient. Large servings for a low cost! The chicken in green sauce and spicy steak were both tender and delicious! I got their mild green salsa, and it was mild, almost sweet. I'll try their hot sauce next time. The rice and beans were well cooked and perfect vessels for when the toppings fell out of the tacos.

ā€œOne of the best in the E Metro.ā€ UPDATE: That was a few years ago. It’s not the same food after the refresh. Disappointing. Little meat in the chicken burrito. Lots of extra tortilla. Veggie burrito was same. Rice and beans meh. This was our go-to for over 10 years. Not local either, we drove here. It was ā€œPineda 3ā€. New owner? Salsa bar is nice. I wish them well.

Excellent service and delicious, authentic Mexican food. Gets busy but it's worth the wait. We've been here a few times and have enjoyed all the food we've tried thus far. I skip the rice and tortillas, due only to my personal dietary restrictions, but enjoy filling up on the shrimp diablo as a salad on its own. My partner enjoyed his tacos and my extra rice.
