3.13.19 @ 7-8p, the mix matched era relics made the decor feel more acceptable for all ages of guests.
I NEVER give 5-stars. Read my past cleanliness standards reviews. For you to understand how they earned this 5-star respect I must lend a detailed experience.

While it was not crowded the noise level made it hard to hear the waiter. They spoke up so it was fine but had it actually been busy it would've made the evening a bit less enjoyable.
The place had a fun atmosphere. Being louder it "allowed" (pun intended) for it to be more casual than upscale. Albeit, if it were more quiet, the fun factor may decrease. Regardless, the decor was a bit harsh & dark lending that sophistication & posing itself as less 'fun', more 'high-end'.
Most decor dictates noise level but this was backwards: Upscale-feel decor for a fun & loud experience. Maybe it's the hodge podge mixtured decor?
When I think 'Mediterranean' my brain thinks lighter hues so it was a bit of a punch. The experience outweighed it, though.
"That can't be the place"! We turned around, slowed down & found it. Signs were very hard to see.
The obviously family-ran business has outgrown this location, though. I understand to uphold mementos but to serve the public a stand-alone would increase business. I'm not suggesting you close this one but expand.
Food: We don't mind waiting for good quality-be prepared to bring your imagination, be OK with your own thoughts, a book or a nice companion.
The waiter brought an awesome appetizer without us ordering it: tortilla with hummus & Pico de Gallo (I think).
I had the Mediterranean pasta. My partner had Lentils with eggplant & beef over rice. I'm not going to describe how delicious it was because you MUST TRY IT FOR YOURSELF! HOT ALERT: I don't like hot/burning foods but my pasta was spicy & was still great!
To calm the burning (a good excuse, right!?) We ordered dessert. It was unbelievably heaven (if I could taste something that could be attributed to a divine quality -- this would 'take the cake', if you will!): Cheesecake. Just the right amount of sweetness. It does have a softer quality to it but the toasted dough hides it for the softer-sensitive people.
It was filling yet not "stuffing". We were full without being tired.
Cleanliness: Tablecloths are switched out after each table. I didn't like how the waiter placed my menu on top my plate (I don't know if the menus are wiped down!). Silverware is thoughtfully wrapped completely inside the paper napkin-less concern of contamination. Cloth napkins reduce trees cut down & are bigger for those messier eaters.
The restroom was outdated but had good soap & paper towels to be able to open the door. Again, cloth napkins is nice here, too.
The staff looked like they were clean to handle our food, but I didn't like how one of the waiters presented an arm-full of plates to the table across from us...
ALERT: The waiter asked who had the next dish he had stacked on his arm. When doing so, he spoke TOWARDS the plates he held near his face, not away from them. If he had the flu (can be sick without beginning symptoms) he would be passing his spit, & any disease, onto that person. If I had my kids there & he did that I would've walked out without paying or taking the food. By disclosing this, I hope they won't make this mistake again.
Service: They chatted, were SO VERY POLITE, articulate, MUCH more INTENTIVE than most other service-industry businesses' employees. While having a bad waiter isn't something that would 'kill' the quality of food, a friendly waiter extends the likeability of experiences. In today's age with many lacking generosity & behaving poorly with little to no consideration of others, this was a breath of fresh air. Boys, don't EVER change if you want to get ahead in life!
The Bus-boy/Cashier (his actual title?) was attentive. We didn't need anything but he asked!
In conclusion, crowded from the decor, lacking waiting area for incoming/ outgoing patrons, but I couldn't have prepared a better...
Read moreI stayed at the motel next door and decided to splurge on delivery to the room from Alfredos. I am shocked at how terrible the food was, especially considering the star rating on Google! Maybe it's gone down hill?? The man taking my order was kind. The delivery guy was kind.
Sampler A: the dolmeh grape leaves were not soft and delicate, but extremely tough and chewy. I would not call the state they were in edible. The filling was totally not authentic - it was some sort of spiced tomato rice (like Italian tomato sauce crossed with Mexican taco rice?) With ground beef. To top it off, it wasn't very tasty. The hummus was NOT HUMMUS, it was liquid with lots of olive oil and copious amounts of RAW GARLIC BLENDED in! Have you ever blended up raw garlic cloves and consumed them?? This is literally that. Spicy as all hell, tasted only like drinking raw garlic cloves. The Cucumber salad was fine, and the sautéed mushrooms were delicious, but that may be because they were simple and plain & compared to everything else they were yummy and edible. Pita was good and basic, not fresh. This was the worst combination of terrible dishes inhave ever had in my life.
Crab dip - menu said it was a cream cheese base but I doubt it. It was a pretty oily, and it came with fried-ish pita. This was OK.
Chicken Kabob: the chicken was totally fine, rice was excellent. Grilled tomatoes and onions were OK. The tzatsiki sauce was atrocious - it's like they made a fine tzatziki sauce and then decided it should be a pepper sauce instead, so they dumped tons if pepper in it. It was a pepper yogurt sauce, and not a gourmet one, it just sucked.
We got no utensils or napkins, which really put a damper on things. I called in my order at 830, and it seems like they really rushed to deliver something. I wish they would've just told me they stopped taking orders foe the day so I wouldn't have wasted 60 bucks.
I will never try this...
Read moreOver the past ten years, we've returned to Alfredo's in Charles Town, WV a few times, with a hopeful anticipation that each visit would bring a renewed and improved experience. While there are certainly charming aspects, a few consistent patterns have made our visits less than ideal. The interior of Alfredo's offers an eclectic mix. The entrance is quite inviting with its colorful decorations and plush pillows, and the dining room's curtains do add a touch of ambiance. The playing cards on the ceiling remain a curious design choice, one we haven't quite deciphered. One consistent challenge, however, is the incredibly dim lighting, which can make reading the menu quite difficult. This proved to be a bit problematic during our last visit when we ordered a "family dish", leading to a surprising $60 some dollars as it was priced at $32, what we didnt see was the per person note in the description.
On our most recent visit, our request for medium-cooked meat resulted in a well-done plate. When we politely asked for a re-fire, a saucer was provided for us to transfer the meat for the kitchen's review. A different staff member later brought the same saucer of meat back, asking if we still wanted it replaced, and somewhat surprisingly mentioned they couldn't guarantee consistency if they re-cooked it. The second attempt, while still a bit overcooked (we even needed our phone flashlights to see it clearly in the dim light!), we decided to accept. The "family style" dish itself was presented on a large platter, which is typical and appreciated, but the serving utensils—oversized tongs and a very large serving spoon—felt more suited for a backyard barbecue than a restaurant setting, which was a bit unexpected. Finally, the Limoncello was a nice bite.
** previous review below ** My dish was delish, I had the lamb gyro. My husband was not thrilled with his dish at all. They had...
