I was in the area and having tried things from a Great Harvest in Jacksonville FL, I made it a point to stop. I wanted to like it, I EXPECTED to like it but unfortunately my experience was not the same as many others. I bought 2 cinnamon rolls and half dozen pepperoni rolls. The cinnamon rolls were good but not fresh bakery good. The icing was sugary as if the sugar had crystalized. It's a LOT of icing. It was better without it IMO. Now the pepperoni rolls; wow, I have eaten a lot of them from all over the state and even in Florida where the guy in Jacksonville makes them one of the best actually. These are way at bottom of the list for me. There is little pepperoni. Mostly just roll, a couple thin slices. Even that wasn't what got me. It had something in it that was bitter tasting. I couldn't put my finger on it and still don't know what it is. I have tried 2 of the 6 to be sure I was tasting what I thought with the first one. At this point I'll either trash the remaining 4 or let someone else try them. Im not sure if they're trying to put a twist on it and failed or if I got a bad batch. If they see this here's a word of advice, don't be cheap with the pepperoni especially in WV, it's our thing, and call your colleague in Jacksonville to see how he makes his cause they're awesome. I really hated to post this and wish it was 5 starts but really 2 stars is...

Read moreMaybe I’m expecting too much for an Elkins bakery, but I was very disappointed in the high prices & poor choice of bread variety. I’m a dietitian & professional chef, so I understand the importance of fiber, but why not offer sandwich & dinner rolls in both whole wheat & white varieties? The same dough is used for both bread & rolls so doing so would add needed choices. No day-old breads offered at discount, either. Your prices eliminate families on a budget needing nutritious breads! No cinnamon spice, fruit or nut breads? Multigrain breads aren’t offered either. ...
