We’ve had two experiences with pies and pints in the last 2 months and will not be a customer any longer. On our first visit we went for a simple date night, after being seated it took nearly 10minutes for us to be greeted by our server. While the restaurant was full, it was full to its very limited capacity. Our server was good enough, friendly, and delivered our appetizer and drinks. We ordered wings and the Cuban pork pie and a drink each. The wings were tasty however they were brought out in a white folding to go box (the new norm at Pies and Pints for all things non-pizza) along with cafeteria packaged plastic silverware with the napkin inside it. I understand the struggles the service industry is going through due to Covid, but MANY restaurants within the Town Center still provide a more natural restaurant experience while overcoming the obstacles that COVID has emplaces. While the menu is a little overpriced, we knew where we were going but the prices coupled with to go boxes and plastic packaged silverware, we were dissatisfied and felt a little ripped off. The pizza was brought to us by someone other than our waitress, who approached us slid the pizza box on the table and walked away. It seemed rushed, abrupt, and slightly rude, but we ignored it. The Cuban Pork pie was delicious and the highlight of the visit. Later our waitress came to drop and collect the check. We will not be returning until after Covid because we unfortunately believe Pies and Pints is operating behind the Covid veil to cut corners and maximize profits. We will go elsewhere for a better restaurant experience that matches Our last experience was tonight and we ordered the Marg Pie to go. I was extremely dissapointed with the Marg pie, personally the $6.99 frozen thin crust marg pizza at Kroger tastes better. As said before, we will not be returning due to the subpar quality and corner cutting going on in the name of COVID. This is disappointing because before Covid this was a restaurant we liked, however now, we will frequent other Suncrest restaurants where we don’t feel as if we are getting duped by poor quality in the...
Read moreThis place was the best!! Great pies, pints, and service. We started out with the wings that were grilled instead of fried. These were the best wings I think I ever had out. They we're blackened with a chard-grilled taste spiced with a peppery seasoning that wasn't too hot, but had a little kick. They give you this incredibly delicious creamy gorgonzola dressing that was a great cool down though. After we were almost done with our wings our pie and sandwich came. Our server Kaileigh, explained that if we ordered a 16" pie that we could choose half of one kind and half of another. That was great because there were so many different kinds of pies to pick from. We got half pine and swine and half steak and mushroom. Both were equally awesome. The pine and swine was a tasty pie with pineapple and thin slices of bacon, caramelized onions, and feta cheese. Yummmmmmm The steak and mushroom pie was delicious with a combination of huge chunks of steak, mushrooms, gorgonzola, caramelized onions, and a creamy sauce made with horseradish and scallions. It was amazing!!!! We had to try one of their sandwiches, so we chose an Italian hero. It was loaded with fresh meats and cheese. It didn't have the regular lettuce tomato onion and Italian dressing on it, instead it had roasted sweet peppers and onions with melted provolone and vinaigrette dressing. It was really good and I would definitely get it again. With our whole dinner with quenched our thirst with their creamy draft root beer that had the full flavor that brought you back to old time root beer. The only thing that I could say slightly negative about this place was that the lighting needed to be a little bit brighter. It was hard to read the menu with such dim lighting. We had to turn the flashlights on our cellphones to read it. Even though this was a little discouraging, in the end this place was really worth going to and I definitely plan on going back. The food was so amazing, plus the service was fast and friendly. I give...
Read moreFirst off, the food and service is excellent here. I went here with my family and we got 2 larges, wings, nachos, and a couple salads with drinks. All of it was great.
I had a couple craft beers too. They have a pretty good selection.
Very few people (if any) would say the pizza was "just okay" here. The two we tried were awesome and i'm sure they all are.
I love pizza, and have tried hundreds of pies across the nation all different styles from Grandma pies, Chicago Deep Dish, NY style, etc. They do a good pie at this place.
Why 3 stars? Price.
This place is expensive. $30 pizzas after tip.
I'm a firm believer that a fancy brick oven large with premium ingredients should max out at $20 menu price. There are a lot of places that do comparable pies for around $17. I will say that their large is a little bigger than average which helps their case for the $30 pie.
But this is a Strip Mall in West Virginia.... not NYC or Boston where you might expect to find this price point.
If i'm going to spend $30 on a pizza in house, I would like to at least have it come out on a platter and have real plates and utensils.
All in all, great food but the price is definitely questionable and you end up eating off plastic plates and shuffling around pizza boxes which makes the whole affair feel like a more expensive version of living room / take-out experience.
I'll probably order here again, but 100% going to...
