Stone Tower Brews
I want to share my honest experience working at Stone Tower Brews.
From the beginning, I truly tried to learn the recipes, help the team, and stay positive. But the job came with overwhelming expectations, very little guidance, and, sadly, some toxic attitudes from a few coworkers. I was expected to memorize everything fast, often without being taught or trained properly. I made mistakes under pressure — I own that — but I was trying my best with no real support.
Some coworkers judged me unfairly, spoke behind my back, and one even insulted me publicly. When I defended myself, things got worse. There were days I worked nearly 9 hours with no break — prepping, cooking, cleaning — or handled the entire line for over 200 people while others stood by sometimes. I lifted and sorted huge deliveries alone. I even tried to help with pork prep, but got blamed for something no one told me to watch. It felt unfair and isolating.
But not everything was bad. I want to give special recognition to Jess, the supervisor, who truly tried her best. She was respectful and kind — a real professional. She deserves credit for holding things together.
And the baristas — wow. They are the heart of that place. Sweet, hardworking, glowing with kindness and warmth. They don’t even receive tips, but still give their best with every drink, every smile, every customer. They bring joy and light to everyone who walks in — the kind of energy that makes you feel welcome and cared for. Pure-hearted, like honey. If you visit, take a moment to see their grace in action. They deserve every compliment in the world.
So while my time there was tough, I deeply appreciate the few who shined with integrity and sweetness. They made the place worth...
Read moreI have been a regular at this place for quite some time, so I obviously have enjoyed it. I like the design of the store, the baristas are incredibly nice, and my drinks are reliably consistent. I enjoy their fun and unique seasonal menu items.
My issues lie with the physical environment, in that it is so incredibly hot that I have not been going as much lately. It does not make the experience enjoyable. I once saw the thermostat set to 78 degrees. I continuously try to do work here but end up leaving within an hour or less because I can’t stand the temperature.
Another issue is that the tables are not consistently cleaned. There remains crumbs and a sticky residue on the tables more times than not, meaning I have to clean them myself. These moments make me second guess whether I should tip, because I’m in a way doing someone else’s job.
It can also get incredibly loud in here, which I understand is normal for a public cafe. There seems to not be any form of noise dampening, and this is only emphasized by the high ceilings. I can get by with noise canceling headphones, but even then, it sometimes doesn’t suffice.
This establishment seems to be doing incredibly well, given that there is sometimes nowhere to sit. There is only so much that can be done in this regard. They have a variety of seating areas including high stools, couches, booths and regular tables and chairs, as well as an outdoor area. They have utilized all the space possible.
In conclusion, I think this is a good addition to have in our town. It can be a nice place to spend time with friends and the baristas are kind and accommodating. The management of how it is maintained throughout the day as well as the comfortability could...
Read moreUnfortunately, our experience at Stone Tower Brews was kind of a mixed bag. The good: Everyone's coffees were very good and the space has a pleasant feel to it with the generous wood and industrial decorations. The bad: We got there before the Saturday morning rush, but pretty much every single table was filthy. Our party's food arrived at ridiculously staggered times, something to the order of 10+ minutes between the first plate and the last, which didn't get delivered until we asked for it. The ugly: Speaking of food, the meal that didn't get delivered was nowhere near what it should have been, not meeting dietary restrictions that our friend had. Upon complaining, the staff was exceptionally rude and made it sound like it was her fault. They brought out a second dish... which wasn't right either. Instead of fixing this one, they brought the missing ingredients out in a bowl 5 minutes later. Throughout the whole ordeal, there wasn't a single apology for their clear mistakes. It it not my goal to be overly critical, and I'm sure the staff was stressed on a very busy Saturday morning, but they have to go back to the drawing board on the way they take, track, and deliver their orders and especially learning some key customer...
